Evelin saved our trip!! She made our trip more worth it. The rooms and hotel surely I don't think looked like the pic and brought to their attention. We went for our 7 year anniversary trip and the staff their made it all more worth it and memorable!

Overall good stay. Rooms could use some updating. We were right by elevators so noisier then normal. Also The doors have a large gap on the bottom so noise travels easier. I would definitely book my next stay there but request a room far from the elevator.

we had no hot water in the room. That was weird, and not very comfortable. I was sure they'd fix it, so we didn't switch rooms, but they didn't/couldn't right then. After we'd checked out, we came back and asked to use a different room/shower to clean up, one with hot water, and they were super accommodating about that, but one of those two rooms they […] let us use didn't have hot water either. I loved my time there, and maybe I am being generous, as I was with family having a great time. The one complaint was lack of hot water in the shower and no internet. Other than that, it was reasonable for the price we paid.

Staff was very nice, need to keep kids out of the bar pool area way too many kids!! Beds are great! Didn't eat there but the nachos by the pool looked good! We found a little place called Manuels on Maxan St. Was very good n good price. We would return but will try to find a place with no kids!!

After my last getaway to SPI (at a different hotel), this hotel was wonderful! Every single employee we encountered ALWAYS greeted my husband and myself with a smile and greeting. Very impressed (for the fair price), with the hotel as a whole. It felt like I was staying in a very expensive, fancy resort in a tropical island. I am so sad for this reservation, I overpaid for a better room (bigger and with full view to ocean) but did not get it when I arrived at the hotel, I got the LAST room of the tower with almos not view to the beach, and then we saw 5 roaches in the room!!! so they changed us to a better room as I booked at the beginning but not because of my hotels.com […] reservation but because of the inconvenience of wathcing 5 roaches running in our room!!! but the hotel is really nice and well located, the beach is private for the hotel, just get the condo room not the standar one which is really small not for 4 people! Great Location right on beach, friendly staff, clean, comfortable room, reasonable rate. What else could you want? Loved South Padre with it's white silky sand and the green water of the Gulf. Fantastic side trip: Dolphin Watch with Scarlet at Port Isabel lighthouse.

The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. The buffet was outstanding! I certainly recommend the hotel to families, not so much to couples on a romantic get away. The hotel needs some renovations in the showers, the wall tile is mighty old. The A/C unit is loud, but it does cool the room. Access to the beach is a hop skip and a jump away.

Hotel is located conveniently by the beach but you have rent the chair/umbrellas to sit at the beach. The hotel rooms are not clean. The one we got had mold. The lobby couches are messy, dirty and torn. I would not recommend this hotel.

From the moment we got there the people were super attentive. The guys from the valet parking were there quickly to get car doors open for us. The young ladies at the counter treated me like royalty. Big smiles from start to end. My room was clean and smelled wonderful. Beds were very comfortable and the view of the pool and the ocean were awesome. […] When we went down to the bar the guys there were talking to us like they knew us. Very friendly and when we got our food...... Delicious.......The pool is huge and the beach, "the best". Just make sure you put the "no disturb" sign on your door because the cleaning ladies were there early. 9:30 to be exact. All in all this hotel is classy and priced very reasonable. Bed was insanely comfortable -- we never wanted to get out of it. Which is a good thing, because it was literally very difficult to get out of. Didn't like the tile floor, but given the hotel's proximity to the beach we can see why it is necessary for cleanliness. something was uo with their laundry and towels , they had a particular smell, but I'm sure they were clean.

Excellent setting, basically a good experience, but no hot water and very poor internet service.

I stayed here this past weekend for 2 nights and was very dissapointed in the cleanliness of the hotel. Our linens smelled like they had been stored for months, two of our towels had holes in them, the restroom tile was dirty and the hallway was not vacuumed during out entire stay with food/cereal all over. I got married here in 2006 & was excited to go back to celebrate our 5yr Anniversary. Name change hotel Along with the comfort we remember. Beds and sheets were very uncomfortable. Felt like you slept in quicksand and with construction paper for sheets. THere was no hot water but not everyone likes a warm shower like me. the pool bar closes at 9pm which […] was weird. The hotel is great! However, when we got there the poolside bar was closed due to some mechanical issues and was closed the whole weekend. This is why we chose this particualar place to stay. The food at the restaurant is bland and almost inedible. The rooms were super comfortable and clean. When we pulled up to the hotel, there was a MISERABLE line to check in at the front desk... but OUR VALET PARKING ATTENDANT (Ernie I believe) CAME TO THE RESCUE!! He took my info, went inside...and was back out in 5 minutes with our room key!! Awesome! Beds are super soft and the view is great. The bed was soft as a cloud and the personal was very nice and helpful we got a extra night at the same rate even through the hotel desk 5 nights of fun and sun.

The hotel rooms are very outdated and need maintenance work done. They tried to re-paint but, left lumps or raised areas all on the walls where they should have smoothed it out. There was some kind of sprayed liquid splash on top of the paint (like a beer exploded or champagne exploded). The worst thing of all was the bathroom...no vanity, no toilet […] paper holder, mold in the tiles, the handicap rail was hanging off of the tile, only one picture frame mirror in the bathroom (called front desk for a make up mirror, they said they didn't have anything like that?) & the water was so hot we had to turn the shower faucet so low it trickled water (called front desk about the hot water in shower, they said would send someone, but never did). When you have more than one person in a room, especially females you need more than a framed bathroom mirror in the whole room. Picked this hotel with a higher room rate so that I could pay for the nicer room but that is not what I got. The view of dumpsters and areas that looked like trash, beer bottles, hotel towels thrown on lower roofs & old wooden tables staked up in a stairway was hidious. Guest staff is very pleasant and informative, including the front desk, the maid & the bell boys. The pet friendly hotel atmosphere was very appreciated. This was the first time ever for my family to vacation in South Padre. We will be back and staying at the Pearl. EVERYONE (employees) was very friendly and helpful. I saw first hnd how a guest was doing their best to irritate the front desk clerk about some charge on her account. The clerk never waivered adn was able to defuse the issue. It is a very very expensive hotel versus the hotel's maintenance. We found fungi in the tiles, beds' lines and in the bathroom's tube. The towels given in the swimming pool area are very old, very poor quality. The hotel cost versus the service is extremely excessive and there are health issues with the fungi. It is better to be in another hotel.

I took my girls and my wife for a weekend get away and the hotel was great, the pool was clean and the had good security and a great bar on site, Great customer service,the dinner at the hotel took longer that what I was expecting but the food was great so I waited a while but it was worth it! We booked our mini vacation at the last minute and was very pleased with our stay. The beach was very close and the pool was great. Very kid and pet friendly. Planning on going back very soon!

very nice pool stays open all night others closed early. going to get sand in room no matter what. Bar tenders dont know how to make drinks so take your own to make that i do recommend. dont pay 150.00 with credit card you wont get it back pay cash you will get your cash back. but very nice .

In general it was a nice hotel, rooms are a bit small, but the walls are too thin and for 2 nites we could hear everything! One day it took the cleaning people to clean our room after 5:00 pm! Everything about the hotel is great. When we got there they didnt have a room ready for us after 30 minutes, so they gave us a suite with a living room, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and a kitchen, instead of the 1 bed room that we ordered. Coming into South Padre for the first time I had no expectation of this place being the jewel that it was. The staff at the hotel what was expected in a high end hotel on south beach. I will return! Remember your at the beach so the sand will be everywhere. Breakfast is optional but you should join the locals in Port Isabel at Manuel's Tacos.

Wonderful room, beautiful beach, friendly staff, fair price on rentals and activities. We went out to eat. ahotel, a little pricey for my budget. Would visit again and will tell others what a nice stay it was!

Ugly and dirty.....will NEVER stay back there!

The woman at the desk on check-in was very rude and not willing to help with anything. The icebox in our room was leaking all over the floor and never worked. We never had any hot or warm water in the shower or sink for the entire stay. The pool is mainly for small kids only, being only 4-1/2 deep in the deepest portion, but that is where the net for […] volley ball playing is, and you cant swim there, and that is a VERY small area. we ended up coming home 2 days early. Had a mix up at check in but was able to get everything cleared up and truly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a great view of the beach and everything was close and just a wave (islands free shuttle) away. Would recommend the pearl to anyone wanting to visit spi.

Had a wonderful stay at The Pearl. Yes, the hotel is a bit aged, but they make up for that with friendly service all around and they are eager to adjust and accommodate. The hotel grounds are beautiful and very convientently located on the beach. We had a great time. The only thing that was a disappoinment was that the rooms were not cleaned daily. There was dust on the furniture and sand that came up from the beach that stayed on the tile during our whole stay.

This was a good hotel to stay in SPI. My kids love the pool area. Suggestion: Please put more dinning option or menu choices within the hotel

Excellent staff, top to bottom. Close to Everything but not in a congested area. Dirty Al's Seafood restaurant is across the street and the best you could ever eat. Wonderful clean grounds beautiful views and great swim up bar and pool.

The last time we were in S. Padre the hotel was the Sheraton which was 4 yrs ago. S. Padre was looking bad and run down. Back then the Sheraton was od but now that it has been taken over we were very impressed with the hotel. Tooms were clean, pool was nice, the grounds kept clean and was right at the beach. We could see the beach from our balcony. […] The only down fall I did not like was the buffet. Very expensive. Breakfast was $16.00 per person. Art was very helpful at the front desk with our room arrangements!! If you want to stay at a large hotel with pool. This would be a good one to reserve!

We would definitly stay there again. This hotel is family friendly. Conveniently located. The only downfall was that our room was not ready until 8 pm. However, they compensated our wait with a hearty breakfast.

We had a two night stay at this hotel and enjoyed every bit of our stay. We cant say enough great things about the staff they were so helpful and friendly to us the guest there and to our family who live close by and came to visit us there. Conveniently located and is a "self contained" hotel. The water is a short walk away and it has a good sized pool. We dine and play generally in the same area and the only down side would be the wi-fi which worked intermittently although this will not deter me from going back nor recommending it.

Our room was nice but very noises because of the out side A/C units was right under our room which was room #417. I complain about the noise and they did move us to room 817 which was a little better but not by much.
