"Perfect for our short trip"
The lobby was gorgeous and it was close to our destination--the Carolina Theatre. The parking was across the street and behind a building, but your hotel key was the parking gate pass. We stayed on the 6th floor, so we were able to at least keep an eye on our car from that distance. We asked for a king bed, but received 2 doubles instead. It was a little […] cramped, but thank goodness we only had to stay a night! The view was nice from the window and there were many amenities (although we did not partake in any except the bar). Beautiful hotel, super-friendly staff, beautiful rooms with amazing views. Parking is a little difficult, but it is downtown Durham, at least it's free and guaranteed.

"Marriott Durham City Center"
Nice property, excellent service and great downtown location.

We have stayed in the Durham Marriott Center City several times when attending programs and events in Durham. The staff is always helpful and especially friendly. The attached Civic Center portion of the building was under construction this time, which was a slight inconvenience, but not disruptive.

"Marriot Durham Convention Center"
There is no parking under the hotel or attached. Parking is across the street and down the hill in a small lot that requires your room card to access, but is not very secure. Anyone can easily walk into the lot and there were no surveillance cameras that I could see. There is no pool in the hotel. I heard from others staying in the hotel that guests […] can go across the street to the local YMCA to swim if they want. There is no complimentary breakfast as with many hotels. The only thing that kept this from 5 stars was the average friendliness and limited bar restaurant service.

I have stayed at the Durham Marriot MANY times as my office is directly across the street. The staff for the most part are welcoming, professional and a few really go above and beyond to make your stay a good experience. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is always spotless . The location for me is perfect because of my office location but if you […] are staying for any other event in or around Durham, check the location carefully before booking. This hotel is in a pretty secluded part of Durham The walk from the parking lot after dark is a bit sketchy and may seem unsafe (Valet and Bell service seems to be available on a hit or miss basis depending on how booked they are). They have shuttles that run pretty constantly that will take you to all of the places you may need to go so there are options but if you are looking to walk out the door to enjoy all that Durham has to offer this may not be the place for you. "Love this hotel and the staff"
I have stayed at this hotel several times and everytime it just gets better. The staff is great. After my second stay they recognized me and that really made me feel great. The location is great as well. Downtown Durham has a lot to explore.

"nice amenities"
Most hotels of this type charge a daily fee for wireless, but it is free here. Also, the bellman deleviered us to our meeting for free, saving us a cabfare.

I stayed here on business and it was A1. The hotel was really clean, provided a shuttle free of charge, the staff that I met were really friendly, professional and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for business or leisure.
