Fort Lauderdale Marriott North - Fort Lauderale

Generally speaking when I book with Hotels.com I usually get one of the least desirable rooms and that has been consistent over many stays and locations. It causes me to book directly when the visit is more personally important like a vacation or weekend getaway. When mentioned to the hotel staff, you get the " you get what you pay for", look.

When you first see the hotels lobby you get excited because its beautiful...that's after you pass the trailer park that's LITERALLY across the street. Hotel staff was great tho. I stayed 3 nights on the 4th Floor. Had these giant spotlights from outside in my window so the curtains were drawn the whole time. Don't bother w/ room service food, it was […] eh at best. If you're hungry I suggest Moonlite dinner down the street. Pools open 24hrs which is cool too. A half cleaned toilet should be enough as the lid looked wiped but underneath had obviously not been cleaned. Thought might be a stain so even wiped and the "dark stain" even came right off. Also has the old thermostats in rooms so even though pushed the bar to the bottom room never got cold. It was comfortable but i just happen to like sleeping in […] cold rooms. When we checked in there was an unplugged refrigerator sitting in the middle of the room. There was a musty odor that even the Bellboy said smelled like an animal was in there. Also there was no safe in the room. There was a cabinet for the safe but it had been removed. I must say that the front desk was very nice and graciously moved us to another […] floor right away, however, the sliding door to the balcony in the new room would not lock because the lock was busted. These hotel has the most comfortable softest bed. I loved the matress and pillow. Just Perfect!

Great place to stay while on business or vacation!

Only stayed a quick overnight, but hotel was most adequate. Just off the Interstate & close to the shopping we wanted to do in the Ft Lauderdale area. Parking a bit of a pain and parking structure poorly marked for newcomers like us. Staff was great. Hotel does not offer Freq Flyer credit because booked thru Hotels.com.

The staff that greeted us late in the evening was not friendly at all. First she said they had no rooms available, after we had been there early in the morning and had been assured we would be checked in once the room was available. After she finally located our record, I handed over the tickets to pick up our bags, I believe her exact expression was […] "What? you have bags too?" and in the most unpleasing manner went to the back to get our bags... I am very dissatisfied with the hotel's service, especially because this was for us a very special time (our honeymoon). I have always been a fan of Marriott, but this experience will make me think twice before booking with them again. In my view, this hotel's star rating should definitely be revised. Nice hotel in a good central neighbourhood but they let themselves down by trying to charge for all TV . A;lso telephone calls were very expensive. On the plus side , no charges were made for sending a fax or taking copies. A good hotel if you are a business traveller. Not so good if you are a tourist

High rise hotel about 13 miles (20 minutes in traffic) from Lauderdale Airport was clean, well maintained and comfortable.

It has been a nice experience being at this Hotel. Everything was as expected. If you ar planning to visit Fort Lauderdale or nearby cities, do not hesitate staying and enjoying Marriot Ft Laudedale North

I love this hotel. It has the best beds and clean comfortable rooms. The staff is excellent!

At first glance as you walk into the room, it looked lovely. Then as you take a closer look, you see the stained duvet and pillow covers, the lumpy pillows, and poorly flushing toilet. We went down to Ft. Lauderdale for a volleyball tournament adn this hotel was about 20 minutes from the beach. It was very clean and the amenities were great, however the sound proofing was not that good. Very nice place but had some allergic reaction to the bed linen. Maybe it was the detergent.

I loved everything about this hotel. They got customer service right! The beds are very comfortable. The pool & jacuzzi were open all night and we could enjoy them after returning late night from visiting family. I will stay there every time from now on.

Great Hotel. Must have a car to get around, but I would highly recommend this hotel to any mid-level traveler. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and easily accessable to 95 but can't hear traffic from highway.

I was very happy with all elements of my stay at this Marriott location. The staff was unbelievably kind and helpful. I was really happy with the breakfast and service. The breakfast i recieved was 5 star quality. I booked this room just to have a place to stay while my wife and i took in a couple of nearby casinos. The room did not provide the best view. The bed was very comfortable. The front desk personnel was very helpful and kind.

I was satisfied with the hotel over from price point to accomidations. It was a quick turn around trip so it suited my needs.

If you look real hard, you might find something you dislike about this hotel. For us, it was everything we needed: a spacious, clean room with a hot shower. There was evidence of renovations, with a temporary fitness center and the pool was temporarily closed, but neither facility was needed by us. We just needed a good place to sleep. The hotel did […] offer to move us to another hotel, with a pool, but that wasn't necessary. Our room was around the corner from the elevator, but we couldn't hear it. Others noted that the doors "slam", but I wouldn't call that a fault of the hotel. Some guests just forget they're not alone. Parking was convenient, in an attached ramp. For the the price paid, in this area of Florida, the room, ammenities, everything passed expections and the parking convienent and FREE.

1990s commercial hotel with some updating.

The rooms were clean and comfy. It was hard sleeping through the night w/o being awaken every now and then by someone slamming their door.

The Marriott truly lived up to their name. We have stayed at many different hotels, but when my six year old daughter enters the room and says "Wow", I know I've picked a winner!we most definitely will stay here again

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. I always choose the Marriott when traveling or when needing to stay away from home for early meetings, business travel, local fun day trips (such as golfing), anything you can think of. This was one of my best stay-overs. The service was fast, friendly, polite - everything you could ask for. The room was clean […] and comfortable. Check in and out was prompt, with offers to assist with baggage. I had even requested if the room had a refrigerator, and though it did not, they provided one for me within a half hour of arrival. This was amazing! I'd forgotten to ask for a room with one, and it was such an important item for me to have. They truly went above and beyond for me, and I couldn't commend them enough for their service. My only complaints: The neightborhood is lacking and it's easy to get turned around trying to get to the hotel.
