The Genesee Grande Hotel - Syracuse

This is my second stay at the Genesee Grande. A classic and classy place to stay, but not if you value economy. Well worth the cost, though. It's my hotel of choice in Syracuse.

A little expensive, but beautiful, and the restaurant breakfast was excellent.

I always enjoy staying at the Genessee Hotel. It's clean, comfortable and has a beautiful lobby area. It has a bar/restaurant that is very comfortable and cozy.

Went on a college tour to SU. Good location. Can walk to SU. read the comments before I booked and I must say they where all positive, so they matched my experience. I will return!

When we arrived, we were taken to our room. (We booked a suite.) When we got into the room, we discovered that the phone did not work, the bathroom door's lock was broken, the main ceiling light kept turning itself on and off and there were no hangers in the closet. We called the from desk and they did send a maintenance person over to look at the issues. […] They also sent over hangers. The maintenance person said we should be moved to a new room since it would take a while to fix everything. When he contacted the desk about moving us, they told him it would take a while and it might be faster to let him repair everything. So, we spent the first part of our stay at the hotel watching the room get repaired. Eventually, everything was working (this was after a fluorescent bulb was broke while changing the ceiling fixture and leaving toxic powder and glass on the floor, that was eventually vacuumed up). The room was also located on the ground floor by the parking lot. Every car alarm and person talking was clearly heard through the window. Not what you would expect paying a premium for a suite. The hotel did not offer to compensate us in any way for our issues. As always we stayed at the Genesse Grand Hotel while visiting our daughter a student at Syracuse University . The hotel is clean, comfortable and the location is close to SU . The staff is pleasant and add greatly to the experiance . Have stayed at a few other locations in Syracuse but Genesse Grand is by far the best.

The hotel itself is very nice, we were located on the first floor like the first room the bathroom window did not lock, even though it was a small window it was ground level and right next to the parking area. It was not a game changer, overall this is a very nice hotel considering it is so close to the college and downtown. There is no in room coffee […] but it in the lobby of the registration desk so not that big a deal. On a snowy day though walking across the driveway to go to the lobby to get coffee might not be fun. I would stay here again just not on the first floor next to the parking lot. Przeczytaj więcej

The Genesse Grande Hotel was a last minute booking from Hotels.com that we needed for the NYS Marching Band Competition held at the Carrier Dome. Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel - the lobby, the staff, the restaurant food no matter which meal, the room accoutrements. Our room was equal with the one that we stayed in in the […] Hotel Danieli in Venice Italy last year. The staff treated us like family and the restaurant was great, both food and service. I was disappointed in this hotel, I thought you get what you pay for and this hotel just came up short. Their staff was supposed to be using the service elevator, which would not have been an issue if they didn't put me on the top floor and have a very slow elevator stopping every floor on the way up and down for staff. We were very impressed with the hotel. The staff was friendly and the hotel was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The location was great. We only stayed one night but will stay next time we're in Syracuse.

Very nice place to stay. Worth the money when you're in a pinch. Don't mind giving it a try.

Front desk staff helpful and pleasant; room was small. Location was convenient and parking close by. The best thing was Bruce, the man who greeted us as we arrived and gave us a ride to and back from downtown. He was an exceptional ambassador for the community and the hotel. He went the extra mile, was cheerful and made us feel comfortable.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. The rooms are always first-rate and the staff is extremely helpful.

the hotel was close to the Carrier Dome and in walking distance if we wanted to walk. I thought the place was very nice BUT alittle priceeee for me.

I took my grandson to the Syracuse - Providence basketball game and we had a ball. The food at the restaurant was great. The people in the Genesee Grande Hotel were very friendly.I would reccommend it . And the Carrier Dome was only a short 15 to 20 minute walk away........

Hotel Was Very Nice and what I expected. Clean Rooms and pleasant staff... Priced fairly. Place was busy! LCD's in room. One complaint about shower...The airator / water conserving methods made for a low pressure shower.. I would rate this place out of all hotels I have ever stayed in a 7.9 out of 10! The hotel is very nice and clean with a good location. Perfect for the business traveler (which I am). The standard rooms are small but CLEAN. I was so pleased that I brought my entire family back a week later to visit the Zoo and do some shopping in Syracuse. We got an executive suite for the second trip and had plenty of room. WE ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE GENESEE GRANDE AND CANNOT SAY ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT IT. THEY EVEN HAD WONDERFUL WEATHER FOR US. THE STAFF IS TO BE CONGRATULATED ON THEIR SUPERB SERVICE AND FRIENDLYNESS. THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING OUR STAY THERE SO WONDERFUL.

We were generally happy with our room but the air exchange was ineffective in keeping our room comfortable with regard to temperature. The weekend was very warm, in the high 80's with high humidity and our room was "sticky" and warm, to say the least. We kept the air exchange on at the HI cool mark but it was still damp and warm.

The "deluxe hotel room" (#278) was very small for 4 people. So, too, was the washroom. Our heating unit could not be regulated and so we had to open the window as it was too warm. Our wall mounted flat screen tv was about 22" - too small! The lobby was beautiful but I would have preferred a better room for the money.

You'll always find people here who have business at Syracuse University, since it's only a few minutes walk to the campus. It's worth spending the few dollars more to stay here, since you wont have to deal with the concern of what to do with your car when you arrive on campus. Free parking at the hotel is certainly a plus. If you are coming during […] a busy time at the University, such as dorm move it time (August) or Parent's Weekend (October), you will need to reserve a room months ahead of time. This is a very nice hotel, but it has the distinct feel of a nursing home. Everything was comfortable, but it felt oddly airless, and I kept expecting to find old ladies in wheelchairs with blankets over their knees.

Hotel is good quality for the price, clean, well situated and pleasant rooms and ambiance. Fitness center, while small, is a plus. Good value for money. Checking-in, reception staff were dismissive and not very friendly. Breakfast service also slow. Other than that, very good experience

This was a beautiful, elegant hotel.

Ce grand hôtel avec un hall d'entrée superbe, des suites immenses et confortables, est très bien si vous voulez du calme, un environement très chic et cosy. L'accueil est parfait, mais il faut bien savoir parler l'anglais pas un mot en français!
