The first room wasn't what we booked, which was good because it smelled of stale broccoli. The second room was fine, except the front door had a half-inch of rattle-play unless bolted. That wasn't a problem as we bolted it when inside.

If you need to visit duke and know you wont spend too much time in the room the value cant be beat. I found a room last minute durion reunion weeken. On the flip side the cable wasnt working well but the internet was fast and it was less than 5 minutes from campus.

Basic cheap overnight stay. Use it if you don't have money to spare an dyou only plant to sleep here. People are very nice but the hotel is a bit old and it shows.Worst part is the breakfast, best is the nice-ness of the people running the place.
"A Little Frightening"
The place is scary and hidden behind an even scarier hotel that shares a parking lot. I'd be scared for the safety of my vehicle, if I weren't so scared I'd have been ax murdered that night. Very close to duke and the hotel staff is very nice. Rooms are clean and breakfast was great.

"What A Dump..."
Dirty, stained floors, cracked paint, rusted shower head, bed bugs, fould odor, and only half of the machines worked. Will never stay here again, should be closed down immediately.

"Strange But True"
Absolutely disgusting, had to leave. Mold growing in shower. Paint peeling in bathroom. Hole in bathroom door. Light bulbs burt out, more than one. Nothing but floor to put soap, shampoo or wash cloth. No soap dish or wall rack in shower. Heavely soiled carpet. Room needed to be repainted. Mattress needs replacing. Odor in room...
"Just right"
I was perfectly happy with my king pillow-top bed. The price was just what i wanted to spend and i was happy with a clean room.

"Certainly a 2 star"
First, let me say I prefer 4 and 5 star accommodations, especially when traveling with my child. It wasn't horrible, but the hotel does need to be updated, I had HUGE concerns over the number of items plugged in to their plugs. For example, They had a 2 plug outlet with a 4 plug adapter in it with a Refrigerator, flat screen tv, microwave and coffee […] maker. I felt this to be concerning as it could potentially cause a fire to have that much voltage coming out of one outlet. Otherwise the sheets were clean but worn a little, the towels were okay, ice maker didn't work. Close to Duke Hospital. Very old and out-dated motel. Surrounding area looked rough. Room was OK and clean - for the price good place to get a little sleep.

"Zero Stars"
Let's just summarize my comments as follows: my room looked like it hadn't been updated since the early 1980's. Paint was chipping and warping off the walls. The heating unit looked like it was a fire waiting to happen as it teetered off the wall. There were no bars in any of the towel racks. The carpet was actually scary in how dirty and old it looked. […] The TV was vintage 1985 and did not work correctly. At any moment I wouldn't have been surprised for any manner of insect or rodent to come running through the room. As well, I did not feel safe there. A nearby utility room door looked like it had been violently assaulted. The lighting was poor; there were dark stretches through the outdoor areas and no visible semblance of security anywhere. Needless to say, I did not stay there even one night. "EVERYTHING WORKED"
Everything in the room was functional, unlike some i have stayed in the past. Room had a good view of the courtyard and was very clean. breakfast was fine.Wifi had strong signals.

The staff was wonderful, the hotel was clean and my was room was very comfortable. It was just off one of the main roads so it was easy to find. I was surprised at how quiet and peaceful it was.
