"Good downtown location"
Great downtown location, breakfast could be included for the price

"Comfortable and Convenient"
This property is a little older but is very well maintained. The rooms were very large, and the hotel management has remembered all the comfortable details - fluffy pillows, robes, slippers... all the things that help make a hotel feel like home away from home. The staff were also very helpful and courteous.
"Quality of Hotel de la Montagne, Montreal"
An excellent hotel with spacious rooms and a separate shower stall - very important for elderly guests. Good service, and although I only had breakfast in the hotel, there was a plentiful supply of fresh fruit and choice of cereals, plus hot dishes if required. Helpful staff and altogether a good choice for Hotels.com.au

"Great Hotel"
Everything was perfect.
"great time"
The hotel staff was so helpful and friendly; the rooms were great and hotel felt luxurious.. Great location...shopping, food, transportation.. They had a great bar with live music at nite.. Very recommended!!!
There's a gentleman's club next door. balcony is pretty much useless. Unless you need to stay in downtown montreal go to the old port/montreal. Better hotels and neighbourhood.
The hotel was great close to places we were going, service fantastic room always clean.
"Hotel de la Montagne, Montreal"
The room was not all that, small and poorly decorated, but the bathroom was huge and obviously newly renovated. The bartenders do not know how to make a Cosmopolitan, they served vodka and cranberry juice in a martini glass. The surrounding area was very convenient. The Loew's Hotel is directly across the street so it is in a prime location. If you […] can't afford Loew's, this place is worth staying at just for the neighborhood. Przeczytaj więcej
"Good place to stay but valet service is bad"
The valet service is bad as the workers use your vehicle to relax inside and then forget to take their garbage out. If your not parking then everything else is amazing.
"Hotel de La Montagne"
Friendly courteous and accommodating staff. Room very clean and location was great for us since that's where we wanted to be. Restaurant recommendation from concierge were also wonderful.
"Shabby hotel in need of updating"
I would not return to this hotel. I stayed in room 506 and it was shabby and seemingly dirty. The lighting was poor and there were initials painted on the window behind the curtain! The room had a balcony but no view. The lobby was noisy and smelled of smoke and there wasn't a doorman on duty when we arrived back at the hotel in the evenings after dinner. […] (I would be very uncomfortable staying at this hotel as a single woman) The staff at the front desk tried to be helpful with recommendations regarding restaurants and events around the city but that would hardly be a reason to return. I guess the piece de resistence was the note slipped under the door saying the water would be shut off the following morning for 3 hours!! Luckily we were out of there!!! Traveller you can definitely do better! Przeczytaj więcej
"Hotel de La Montagne"
Great location, fantastic big room & bathroom! The rooftop bar and the pool are a real find in the middle of the city. However, we stayed a week and were only allowed one free tea and/or coffee - this is a really mean attitude. They even charge $1.25 per tea bag after that! I don't like the sign "you are forbidden to take food etc to your room" and […] the staff have the right to check your bags! What a load of bollocks! It makes one feel like you are in a prison. Lastly, the balcony is HIDEOUS and why they haven't jazzed them up is beyond words...to come out of that beautiful room onto that ugly cement wall ruins the ambiance immediately. Przeczytaj więcej
"Close to lots of restaurants and bars"
Hotel is in a fun neighborhood, and is close enough to walk to the Business District, the Port, and old Montreal. The rooftop pool, restaurant and bar is fun (although it can get quite crowded).
"Pleasnt stay"
Nice room that was comfortable. very convenient location that is close too everything. the outside of the hotel is in desperate need of a face lift. Pool and terrace on the roof was a big bonous.
"The hotel de la Montagne was a pleasant surprise"
The staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended several restaurants that were great, and even made the reservations for us. The hotel location could not have been better, central to shopping, restaurants and night life. If by chance you don't want to venture to far the amenities in the hotel are plentiful, including entertainment in the lounge, […] and a roof top pool. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated as was the rest of the property. Great hotel and reasonably priced. Przeczytaj więcej
We have always chosen Hotel de la Montagne when we stay in Montreal and it did not disappoint this time. Location, location, location! Walking distance to shopping, restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful always, and room was very clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to our next stay.Highly recommend. Recommend renting bikes and cycling to […] the waterfront and through old Montreal. It was a high light. Przeczytaj więcej
"Great Hotel; Nice People, Excellent Location"
We stayed for two nights (July 15th & July 16th) and the staff could not have been more helpful. The location is ideal for dining and a short cab ride to Old Montreal.
"Best hotel I've ever stayed at"
So, I'll admit my experience with hotels is not the most wide-ranging in the world, but I have nothing but good words to say about the Hôtel de la Montagne. Located within a 5- to 10-minute walk from most major downtown shopping as well as the Bell Centre, it made getting around very easy. From the moment you walk in, the staff are extremely courteous […] and helpful, not to mention fluently bilingual. At check-in, we were upgraded to a larger room at no cost for both of our nights. The room itself was gorgeous, perfectly clean and tidy and very comfortable. The bed was especially nice - I don't think I've ever slept so well in a hotel. The amenities in the hotel were also numerous, although we didn't take advantage of much apart from the TV, which had a fairly good selection of channels. The air conditioner in our room was also fully and easily adjustable. We even got a pair of fancy chocolate truffles supplied along with turndown service after our first night. The one slight downside about the hotel is that the balconies don't offer the best views of the city, even on the 10th floor, and they open onto a rather noisy street. But this is a very minor grievance, and it is still better than having no balconies at all. All in all, this is the single best hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere. In terms of value for money, especially if there is a sale, Hôtel de la Montagne cannot be beat. Whenever I go back to Montreal, this hotel will be the one I check first. Przeczytaj więcej
"Nice except the pool"
This hotel was overall very nice. Excellend central locatoin, very comfortable rooms and beds. The rooftop bar is popular among locals which for me was a negaive. The hotel boasts a rooftop pool however it is not reserved for hotel guests after 11:30 AM.This is fine if you want to have a morning swim, but if you want to use the pool for afternoon sunning, […] forget it. You will have to compete with the locals who line up at the elevators to spend the afternoon at the pool. The management is more interested in selling cocktails that pleasing their hotel guests in this regard. Przeczytaj więcej
"Hotel de la Montagne is located in a vibrant area"
within walking/biking/Metro/bus distance to everything. The room I had was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower was great, although the lighting in the bathroom left a little to be desired. The only complaint is that the rooftop pool is open to the public, so it's unrealistic to expect to find a place to sit, even though you are a hotel guest. […] We were unable to take advantage of this amenity throughout our stay. Przeczytaj więcej
"beautiful boutique hotel"
I stayed here for a conference that was held at a larger hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I definitely intend to go back to Montreal, and would stay here again!

"close to sights with lots of hidden fees"
We checked into hotel 40 minutes earlier than typical arrival and were charged $20additional for parking- they did NOT tell us this at check in. Found out when we got our bill at check out. We would have parked on the street until check in had we known this. Also, they charged us $20 per night for having 3 ppl in a room with 2 queen beds. Lots of fees […] that were not made clear up front. Pool is open to public at 11:30 am and gets VERY crowded. Not a leisurely hotel pool at all. only benefit is location but there are many other hotels in same area. Hotel is very dated. Przeczytaj więcej
"Hotel de la Montagne in Montreal"
Traveled from NY to Montreal by train. The hotel was only a 15 minute walk from the station, or a 5 minute cab ride in good traffic. HOtel staff was great! They gave us brochures for the festival that was going on and were very courteous. The pool area is a good place for socializing. and having a few drinks. Rooms were comfortable, worth the price. […] Bathrooms were spacious, had a tub and a shower separate, 2 sinks and a ton of vanity space. Breakfast (not included) was wonderful. Freshest fruits, yogurt or hot pancakes, bacon eggs and delicous pastries. Service was very warm and friendly. Worth the price. I would highly recommend this hotel and all its ammenities to everyone. Location of hotel was nice. Easy to get to sites. Only problem in the room was the noise from the pool area on the roof. You could hear theing moving around.

"Hotel de la Montagne Montreal"
Excellent stay. Clean large room with a marble bathroon that had a seperate bath, shower stall and sink area. Excellent service, great place to dance in the lobby with great DJ that sings and plays the key board. We will be staying here again
Good location and quality for a price
"pool area"
The pool on top of the hotel is very nice. However the hotel needs to monitor who goes up there. There are to many low lifes at the pool. The language they use tends to destroy the atmosphere.
"Hotel Montagne in MTL - enjoyable stay/nightlife"
The hotel is just off of a major street, Sainte Catherine with plenty of shops, and has a popular rooftop patio/bar, groundfloor lounge and groundfloor bar. All three were busy throughout our 5-day stay, making them an easy choice for nightlife. The room was clean and spacious, though the bathroom only had a shower (no tub). Very reasonably priced, […] and close to a Metro station, bus, high end/mid-range shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Przeczytaj więcej
"Hotel De La Motagne in Montreal near St. Catherine"
Great hotel, the staff were very friendly and very helpful. Only annoying thing was the people coming up to the club/pool in the terrace, because they take up the elevators for those who actually pay for a room at the hotel, other than that very satisfied.
"only one bad thing"
The pillows
"Nice hotel"
Clean, quiet and comfortable. Not pretty from the outside, but the foyer and rooms are very stylish. Very special chocolates put on pillow at bed turn-down time. The balcony is rough concrete - not suitable to sit out on, but gave a great view to what was happening in the street - and useful to check the weather. Hotel is right in the middle of hundreds […] of eating houses (never a bad meal), and convenient to the metro and bus route 515 to Vieux Montreal. Przeczytaj więcej
"In the heart of fun and touring"
This hotel has two of the hottest places for locals and tourists to visit right inside and a rooftop pool bar that if you are young can be a great place to hang in the summer. There was always a line at the elevator to reach the top floor but the security and other staff seemed to recognize guests (at least us) and we always bumped the line. One bartender […] in their Thursdays lounge was one of the best I have had in place like this. And if the hotel doesn't offer what you want your are steps from the heart of nightlife. Easy walk to Metro and good tourist places, and good food are within a mile walk. Enjoy this place. Przeczytaj więcej
"THE party hotel. Great location, but..."
Little did we know that the Hotel de la Montagne was such a party destination. The bars at this place are hopping late into the night, which is great if that's your thing. Be sure to request a room below the 18th floor as the 20th floor pool area is popular all day and all night making for difficult sleeping if you're too close to the action. Plus, […] the rooms on the 19th floor haven't been renovated and are a bit 'old' for comfort. Przeczytaj więcej
"Air Conditioner stops and starts"
The air conditioner stops and restarts frequently and wakes you up special if you are a light sleeper like me. I understand it needs to turn off when it reaches the level and starts back on, then it should turn to fan only to serve as a white noise. There is a fan only feature but then it does not cool. I slept an average of two hours only each night […] I stayed. Przeczytaj więcej
"Great Hotel - Hotel de la Montagne"
Whenever I stay in Montreal, I try to book this hotel. It is convenient to all downtown amenities, restaurants, business and entertainment. The rooms are large, the staff is friendly and the hotel has an older charm. In the summer there is a pool deck on top with a bar. The pool area gets jammed with the "under 25" crowd but the lower deck is good for […] enjoying the sun and grabbing a light bite and a beverage. Przeczytaj więcej
"Hotel de la Montagne--Perfect for Downtown Montrea"
My daughter and I stayed there May 24-26, 2011. Had a very large room with super-comfortable beds, flat screen TV, coffeemaker, mini-bar, private balcony and a large, beautiful bathroom with double sinks, lots of counter space and separate tub and shower, bathrobes and slippers. Downside: Coffee is only free first night. After that, mini-bar says it's […] $2.50. When checking out we were charged $4.50 for one coffee packet - guess because there were 2 of us? However, all in all, would definitely recommend if staying down town. Przeczytaj więcej
"Hotel de la Montagne in Montreal-our Spring Break"
We chose this establishment because of its rustic charm and proximity to downtown Montreal. It is in an area with many clubs and restaurants which contribute to the ambiance, both the good and, well, noisy. If your room is above the street side, there are late night revelers and a moderate amount of traffic. A room on the opposite side backs up to the […] clubs, restos and cafes on Crescent Street. The smell of food being cooked permeated our room( we changed rooms half way through our stay). The decor varies by floor, and overall is pleasing, but somewhat dated, as is the lobby. Having said that, the theme of the hotel dates to the Beaux Arts era. The furniture and fixtures are ok, but our first room had a so-so shower head. The flat screen TV work fine, and free Wi-Fi was a real plus!! 5 stars for overall location and friendly staff. Przeczytaj więcej
"Great Hotel"
Hotel de la Montagne was a great find! Don't let the plain facade fool you, the rooms are extremely clean and well-kept. The location is very central for shopping and dining and is only two blocks away from the subway station, providing easy access to other points of interest in the city.
Our experience at the hotel would have been perfect, if not for the cold reception we received at check-in at 4pm on a Sunday. there were 3 staff at the front desk and not one smiled when we arrived, nor seemed very interested in serving us. it took about 10 minutes to find us 2 rooms that was ready, and no one took the time to explain to the guests […] why the delay, but they all had a lot to say amongst themselves. Had it not been for this small but important negative experience, i would have rated this overall as one of the best finds in downtown Montreal. the rest was perfect, and the staff at the check out was much more professional. the only negative thing I have to say is that the doorman never opened the door for us. When he was outside he was walking around and didn't pay attention to who was coming and going from the hotel.
