Hotel St. Marie - Nowy Orlean

I highly recommend! Rooms aren't huge. But they are clean and comfortable! Service was awesome and everyone accomadated anything we needed. Would come again especially because of the price! And the location is like twenty feet away from bourbon and the French quarter.

Hotel St. Marie is just a few blocks away from Bourbon Street. The staff was nice and upgraded our room so that we had an inside balcony. This was great as there was some road construction on a side street. Rooms are large, which helps when you have 3 people.

I was shocked at the sight of the room when we checked in. The pictures on the website DO NOT at all reflect what the rooms look like. I paid over $300 a night and had a musty smelling room with no blanket on the bed and a small window with a torn window treatment. There was only one elevator and the stairwell was questionable to take as it was dark […] and grimy. The staff was helpful and courteous, for the most part....but not one person ever asked us what we thought of the place or if we were enjoying our stay. The staff at the Hotel St Marie was very helpful and friendly. The location is great - very close to all of the action in the French Quarter, but still quiet. My issues have to do with the condition of my room. The lighting was extremely dim and made it hard to read at night. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those who want easy access to Bourbon Street & the rest of the French Quarter. The hotel is a very short walk to all the activities but far enough that you can actually get some sleep. The staff was very friendly and the valet parking is so convenient. It was ok. Extremely overpriced and front desk staff was extremely rude. Had a friend come in a day early before checking into his own room and they brought up a cot. Then when he came back before the rest of us on his way to the airport, and asked for a key, they overcharged us $200 for the room after having already paid an arm and a leg. We were locked out of our room for almost 24 hours. The electronic key system failed (on our door) and instead of spending the evening enjoying Bourbon Street, we spent the night trying to get our door unlocked with the maintenance man. The hotel was OK. Good location, friendly staff, basic room, very basic TV, VERY small window. As I was early for check-in they said that they would call me when my room was ready, they never did. The bellman was probably the best of the bunch, very helpful and friendly. If you need a taxi, it is best to either flag one down yourself or let the bellman […] flag one down for you, when the desk calls for one, they take a long time to come and the cabs were older and in poor condition. I ate breakfast one day at the restaurant and it was terrible. Long wait, cold food, waitresses who do not refill your coffee and do not bring items that you ask for. The thing that stood out the most for me though was the fact that when I checked in, the city was having a water problem. The hotel staff DID NOT tell me that i could not drink the water, nor did they supply us with water. As there are a lot of hotels in the area, I would look elsewhere on my next trip. We found the hotel to be charming, conveniently located and clean. We loved the balconies and open courtyard. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. There were only 2 things I didn't like about my hotel and the first is there was no fridge in my room. Which being a traveler makes things a little complicated. And the second was there was only 1 elevator and the thing was super slow. Other then that I loved this hotel.

Hotel St Marie is half a block off Bourbon St. I wanted to stay in an old hotel with a wrought iron balcony. Check. I stayed the day after Mardi Gras when the price dropped a lot. It would have been much better if I had gotten a hotel ON Bourbon or St. Charles St. for being above the walking people or parades. This is an old hotel all fixed up and so the room was sort of average, not old style. Nothing wrong about that, just not my vision. It has a nice little patio in back with tables. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We got off a long bus ride at 7am. With check in not being until 4pm the staff worked hard & got us checked in by 11am. The hotel is a great great location for partying on Bourbon St. We never had to deal with the nasty restrooms on bourbon St. We would just walk back to our room. Peeling wall paper, stained carpets, badly in need of a paint job. Ice machine only on first floor, no blankets (!), very expensive coffee shop ($30 for 2 coffees and breakfast sandwiches).
