I was not very happy with the condition of the room or the way the reservation was handled. First of all I ordered a non-smoking room, as soon as I walked in, the odor of smoke was overwhelming. I tried to call the front desk and the phone cord was pulled out, finally locating the cord, the clip was broke off so I had to hold in the cord to complete […] the call. I explained that I ordered a non-smoking room. The receptionist said "they ordered a smoking room for you". I said I never order a smoking room, can you move us to another smoke free room. "No, we are all booked up, I can send someone with deoderizing spray". Someone came and it lasted all of 5 minutes. The room was not very clean and as expected cigarette burns were noticable all over the room. It was impossible to sleep with the smell of smoke in the room. The location was the only posive point. This was my first trip to see the Yankees in spring training and this chain hotel (though over-priced by all standards within the chain) was indeed walking distance to the stadium. However...my room was about a block away from the office. The service people at that office seemed more bothered than engaging. The room had none of the usual modern amenities. Difficulty finding plugs for all the things modern travelers bring like computers, cell phone chargers. "Kitchen" appeared to have been added which took away from the space in the room.

The only thing going for this hotel is its prime location near Steinbrenner Field.

It had a bed and a toilet and a tub. Unless there is nothing else available I would not ever stay there again. Badly in need of an update.

I travel quite frequently for business and this hotel seemed like a good fit...that is until i got there. This hotel is set up in separate building that are spread quite far from the main office. I was given a room in the last building - not a big deal but when you are given a room that has no working telephone, internet or an electrical outlet - then […] it became a bother. One of the things i look for in a room is wireless service. I was told that the service had been down for 4 days and would not be up anytime soon. The room smelled bad and there was no way for me to call the front desk and let them know of the condition b/c the phone didn't work. I immediately checked myself out and took myself over to the Holiday Inn next door and was treated to what a real hotel should be like. My expectations for this hotel were already low, based on other reviews and price, but I never thought It would be this bad. When I arrived on Wednesday, they said the internet wasn't working, but that we could use the hotel next door, which was under same ownership, for amenities such as internet, pool, gym, etc. I wasn't able to stay in my room day […] or night to have internet service. 5 days later, it was still not working. Our room was clean and the beds were comfy enough. The hotel seemed to be in good condition and had a nice homeyness about it compared to others in that price range. At first I thought the rates in that area were high...but it was worth it. It was nice to have a restaurant next door and the Holiday Inn Express back of us had a little pond around the […] back which was cute. Important to us....room also included a coffee pot and hairdryer and there were plenty of tables for the complimentary breakfast. This motel served us in a pinch. The location is very handy for TPA access. The surrounding neighborhood was nothing to write home about---we ended up eating at a near-by Waffle House (yeah!). In the greater neighborhood is the International Plaza, next to the TPA. While we were there, the internet was down--had been for 3 days, and would be for another […] two! This was "horrible", quite inconvenient for our own needs at the time. Also, the room we were given was at the parking lot entrance used by the semis---definitely NOISY!. The hotel was in a central area with plenty of food and activities around. For the price I was very pleased with the room and how clean it was. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Other than ants under the bathroom sink, it was a good experience.

Hotel was close to tampa stadium, walking distance. Continental breakfast very good, close to restarants and shopping plaza.......

I would definitely recommend this hotel because of its close proximity to Raymond James. Only a couple of the electric outlets worked in my room, though. Other than that, no complaints.

I booked a room at this hotel for convenience to the Raymond James Stadium, which i now think was a bad decision. The hotel was disgusting! I went to check in and the front desk clerk was rude and very short while talking with her. I went to my room and when i was starting to unpack i went to the restroom to realize that the tub was filled with dirty […] water, after that i check more stuff and the curtains wouldnt shut. I called to complain, the next room i got i thought would be better but of course not! The air did not work but it was already 2am when i everything was situated so i didnt want to move my stuff nor did i want to deal with the clerk again. The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for and they allowed pets. The decor is dated but the room was clean. I would stay there again.

I had surgery the day I stayed & they got my room ready early & it was very clean

the front desk was a little short and to the point, which is fine with me but could be a little friendlier. the room wasnt bad but there were little things that bothered me. the ac rattled, the carpet wasnt layed out right and i would trip over it, the bathroom door wouldnt close all the way with out lifting it, under the kitchenette area was rotted. […] there were also things that made an impression. the hot breakfast was great and gave variety, the pond area with the ducks in the back was beautiful, the steakhouse in front was awesome, the shuttle service saved us lots of money. it is conviently located. Walking distance to the Ray J stadium. Good steakhouse next-door. Large and rather soulless motel.

Hotel was a great staff. They had very nice staff. My only problem was the wifi signal was very low making it impossible to even get on the Internet.

the hotel had the nicest staff they.were very helpful & friendly.went out of the way to make you comfortable. it was minutes to where we had to go. Adrian at the front desk was very busy, but still took the time to help us&.we did get a good nites sleep also. THE BREAKFAST WAS delicious. thank you all.

We landed in Tampa, and found the hotel pretty easily. The room was really pretty dated, but the worst part, is the rug was wet. After calling to complain the front desk sent a non English speaking housekeeper. When we left to find a place for dinner, we checked the front desk, and they promised to solved the problem. They placed a shower curtain on […] the wet rug area, and we were too exhausted from our long journey to talk to the desk. I was horrified that they did not even offer to change our room. The breakfast looked awful, and can you imagine that the coffee was so terrible, we could not drink it. We had to locate a cafe, which costs is more money. Do not waste your money here. All in all we enjoyed our stay. We had only one complaint and that was not the hotels fault and after I called it was taken care of. I had to be up at 4am to catch a flight out of Tampa Int'l, went to sleep at 11:30 pm and was not asleep more than an hour when a group of spanish speeking men congragated outside our door speaking extremely loud for that […] time of night. Since I had to be up early I called the front desk and they very promptly sent security and it stopped. My husband was not traveling with me but walkd me to the front lobby at 5am to catch the shuttle. He said he no sooner got back to bed and the same people started up again and security was called because they were waking everyone up. The hotel was ok but didn't get much in the way of sleep. Really appreciated the free wireless internet for the room. I didn't like the fact that all the rooms had outside exits and there wasn't an elevator. We were glad that the clerk was able to give us a King room even though we'd booked 2 full beds. The hotel was an older one but the room was comfortable and felt clean. We were only given one washcloth […] (for two of us) and two towels. We stayed 3 nights and had to ask for more towels and toiletries each day. On the third day, housekeeping was passing by and gave me extra towels at the door but handed them to me without folding any of them. I just thought this wasn't putting their best foot forward. Hotel bathroom was dirty. Very unclean. Will not stay at another Comfort Inn ever!!!

My daughter had a summer camp sleepover at the zoo and I had to stay somewhere local to pick her up in the morning. I liked the general feeling of the reviewers of this hotel before I selected, so was comfortable with my choice; however, I was even more happy when I opened the door to my room. Had a great sized refrigerator, […] a microwave, coffeemaker and the temperature was set so I didn't have to wait for the room to cool off like some other lower cost hotels. It was obvious they had tried to maintain the problem spots most other hotel don't care about, like the grout around the tub, as it was well cleaned and maintained to have a clean visual appearance. The outlets are never great in any hotel of most price ranges, but for the most part with a little moving things around I was not more than slightly inconvenienced at all. My bed was the most comfortable night sleep I have gotten away from home in a long time, and I travel A LOT, so that says something. The hotel is on a busier road, so you will have to U turn to get back to some of the close intersecting major roads, but this is FL so you have to always do that anywhere. The front desk clerk was extremely friendly and treated the guests like he appreciated his job, which is another thing that lacks in this day and age, so I will again rate this stay as a great choice and will recommend if anyone is looking to stay within a 5 mile radius or so. Convenient distance from downtown and lots of restaurants. Breakfast was good variety including hot items but was not ready on time - posted time was 6:30, but the attendant was still setting stuff up at almost 7. I chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the airport (convenience) and reasonable price. I have stayed at multiple Comfort Inns in the past, and have been satisfied. This hotel is showing its age. The wear in the bathrooms makes it look as though it is not clean. (I choose to assume that it actually is clean.) The choices were surprisingly varied: breads, eggs (scrambled and cold hard-boiled), yogurt, cereal, fruit, and waffles. They provided waffle batter and a waffle maker - not the toasted frozen variety - and condiments. With plenty of coffee, juice, water, etc, this breakfast was a good start for the day. My husband and I, along with our 2 university aged children, needed a place to stay for one night. While I think that I would tire of the breakfast with an extended stay, for one night it was fine. The Comfort Inn Raymond James does not provide a luxurious environment, but it is a cost-effective, comfortable, and safe place to get a night's sleep. This hotel was perfect for the 1-night we stayed in it prior to our cruise. There are lots of places to eat near it, and their continental breakfast was descent - pancakes, sausage, hard boiled eggs, etc. The staff was very friendly as well - would stay here again on my next cruise.

I stayed one becasue I was in town for a job interview. The room was very clean, I had a non smoking with a king bed. The was comfortable and the contenential breakfast was very good. keep in mind its a hotel breakfest but i was impressed comapared to other placed I stayed in fl. Excellent distance from Raymond James Stadium. I shuttle was provided to the stadium and the walk back is about 15 minutes. Hotel isn't the newest..but for the price it was not a bad deal at all.

We were only stopping the night. However we were very happy with the room and how clean it was. Price was very good especially for the price. We are from Australia and have been on the road for about two weeks. We had the best night sleep at this hotel. I thought the room was quite comfortable for my 1 night stay. The area was quiet and suprisingly I was well rested the next morning. However, it took over 10 minutes for the water to warm up and I woke up to a roach crawling next to the refrigerator....that is not acceptable at any hotel.

The hotel was OK. The exercise equipment was not working, but I was able to use the equipment in the sister hotel(Holiday Inn). Location is about 20 minutes from Busch Garden. Over all we was satisfied with our stay and would recommend this Comfort Inn. The area is nice and quiet and seem to be safe. The complimentary breakfast was excellent.

This is a perfectly nice, large motel walking distance to the Yankees Spring Training stadium. But you don't even need to walk. There is a courtesy shuttle that drove us right where the limos dropped off. (Do tip the driver, however.) It is on a busy highway, but we were far enough back there was no noise. Stayed here to attend a Yankee game. Walking distance to stadium. On a very busy highway, 4 lanes each direction ! Steak house next door. Hotel workers were friendly. Room was clean, AC, Heat, and TV worked fine, but the Refrig was very noisy and I had to pull out the cord. Also the divertor valve in the shower did not work . Good location, convienent to highways and freeway, close to my meetings. However not the friendliest desk service, uncomfortable bed, very low water pressure. The hotel is outdated and some of the people staying there were not who I want to be close to. Hotel is close to Raymond James Stadium and Yankees spring training facility, so it's good location […] for them.
