"Delta Montreal great location but scruffy"
Excellent location in downtown, close to Mall, Beer/ wine store, subway and a 10 minute indoor walk from the train station. This is a comfortable and clean hotel and if you can get a good deal should be recommended for location and convienience. "Delta Montreal offers all we look for when away"
This is the third time we have stayed at Delta Montreal. It is close to the areas in Montreal we enjoy visting on these get aways. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We look forward to returning in the spring when renovations are completed and will have a fresh new look.

The hotel was centrally located and in walking distance to all of the sites we wanted to see. However, the hotel rooms definitely are in need of some renovations. There are signs posted throughout the hotel, albeit in French, that I believe to suggest that all rooms will be renovated in 2012. Just spent a weekend at the Delta Montreal and thoroughly enjoyed it. Front desk was helpful and we were allowed to use the business centre to print out our boarding passes. The room was large and the beds were extremely comfortable. Staff was always pleasant. We got a special on our room so it was a good value, but I would hesitate to pay the regular […] room rate. The hotel is promising a complete reno by 2012 so this review may not apply for much longer. Good location downtown, but the hotel is tired. Carpet in the room was stained from years of use and the decor etc...are dated. However, the overall cleanliness was acceptable. The spaces in the parking garage are tight; and there is an odour of exhaust fumes […] that greet you in the lobby area of the parking elevators. On a positive note, my wife scheduled a hair cut in the hotel salon and was very happy with the results ( she is very particular, so this is a big deal ) I would not go out of my way to stay there, but it was the best price for a big downtown hotel, and if you intend on seeing the city and just need a place to sleep; this hotel would be fine. My recent stay at the Delta Montreal was fantastic. They were so accomodating and flexible at a great price, i was definately impressed. An early check-in and a last minute late check-out (at no extra charge), the view from our balcony was amazing and the food was great (try the nachos). The pool, sauna, hot tub and 24 hr gym.....yea. "Excellent location, Halal Food available"
We stayed for 5 nights. Excellent location! Walking distance to McGill Campus & Mont Royal Park, the business/shopping districts in downtown as well as Old Montreal. Very spacious rooms. Quiet and clean. Great buffet and excellent snacks at the bar. They even have 3 choices of Halal meals!!!!! The phone and TV did not work well but we rarely used them. […] Overall it's great! It was an awesome stay. STaff was friendly, and room was outstanding. It was convenient for us, to drop the car in the parking and then walk 5 mins to St. Catherine, and other attractions. Next time we go to Montreal, we'll definitely be at this hotel again.

The rooms are being renovated currently, so ours was a bit outdated, but the facilities are very nice, as are the staff. It was a wonderful trip and we thought the central location played a part.

I love this hotel. The staff is excellent. They always remember who I am. That is one reason why I keep coming back. A simple smile goes a long way. Even longer when they remember you! I understand the hotel will under renos in 2012. This is needed. Although I stayed in a signature suite, it still looked a bit tired, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. "Hotel room is very old"
I am very disappointed that the hotel room is very old and sub-standard in the maintenance. The carpet is dirty and the washroom is below expectation. However, the bed was comfortable and the public area of the hotel is well maintained. May be it is just the cheaper rooms offered through he Hotel.com rates.

Very convenient location but rooms needed updating and a good cleaning. Funny odour in room covering up something... Shower was terrible spraying all over, carpets seemed like they needed a good also. Not up to what I would expect from a Deltal hotel.

Had a great time very clean, and Perfect place to be right in the middle of downtown. Not the best view but Mount Royal was a 30 Minute walk to the top of the Mountain. Excellent place to take my Girlfriend.

Upon entering the room, it appeared someone was occupying it. The bed looked as if someone had jumped on it and there was a chicken bone on the floor next to the dresser. The front desk told us they would give us 'a premier room' . When the customer service person came to our door, he walked us up to a different floor to a room that was identical (except […] for the chicken bone on the floor). The carpet is so worn in the rooms, it's even torn and in fringes in front of the bathroom. You don't get a sense that it's really clean. The bed was comfortable, nonetheless, I don't think I'd go back to this hotel because we got the impression that all the rooms were the same, rundown. "Clean, neat though needing an update"
The hotel room was spacious and clean. The interior decorating is needing an update. I believe as this is their 20th year, they are remodeling. The pool and jacuzzi were comfortable.

The hotel is located very close to McGill University. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They made for a very pleasant stay in the hotel. However, the room we had was in need of improvements. It had not been touched for a long time, it seems.

"Could be a 4 Star hotel.."
My wife and I have been in Montreal for a couple weeks now, mostly staying at 2 star hotels to save some cash. This past weekend we decided to live a little & stay at a more upscale hotel. Hotels.com had a special pricing for Delta Montreal & we decided to stay for a couple nights. Initially we picked Delta based on room pictures and price. It looked […] like the best bang for the buck with a King bed to boot. My first impression wasn't that great, we waited 2+ hours for check-in & when we finally got to our room, it looked nothing like the online photos. The furniture was dated & worn out, carpets & drapes were stained etc... I went back down stairs to question the desk clerk on the misrepresentation of online photos compared to what we actually received. She was polite about it, said they must of took pictures of the BEST rooms.LOL I felt it was misleading & stated it was false advertising, she quickly upgraded us to a bigger room. My wife and I checked out the Bigger room & bigger isn't always better. In this case it was bigger, but no better then our first room. I went back down stairs & conveyed my displeasure with the second room. She upgraded us again to a Premier room & offered free breakfast vouchers, which was classy. This room was very cozy & had everything we needed for a relaxing 2 night stay. Apparently renovations are in the works for this location. After new carpets, bathtubs & furniture are in place the Delta will be a 4 Star Hotel. Top 5 reasons to stay: 1. Service 2. Onsite Pool, Spa, Gym, Sauna, store 3. Location was great! 4. The room I reserved through the Internet was not the one I was assigned to when I arrived at 4:30 pm. So at the reception they told me that they would assign me another room which wasn't ready until 6:30 pm. I tehrefore had to take a long walk around the block to wait for my room. Great location, close to restaurants, shopping, etc. Decor needs to be updated, need bathroom overhaul. Didnt appreciate having to pay $13.95 for internet - it's free at so many other hotels.

"Delta in downtown Montreal"
Great location for a weekend in Montreal. Walking distance to all the bars and restaurants you could possibly want. In particular the House of Jazz almost next door to the hotel was a great night out with live Jazz most nights. We liked the bar in the hotel for ambience - very relaxing. The room looked totally different than what shown in the picture. The furniture and setting was very old and outdated. The carpet had a bad smell and a huge fold which you could easily trip on. I did not get what I paid for. I will never go stay in this and any other delta hotel again. Very poor quality. Room looked awful!

I had a wonderful stay, the only ting that would make us not come back next year is the fact that there is no refrigerator or microwave which is very convienient and alot of your competitors do it. Thanks! Kathleen

We booked into the exec suite , upon arrival and just before we entered our room we noticed the carpets in hall were not vacumed and stained as well the carpets in our room were clean but stained expected better. The hotel is advertised in the heart of old montreal , not quite 20 minute walk to get into the heart of old montreal
