Quality Inn Central - Albany

Swimming pool and hot tub were very clean. That alone says alot. The hotel is older but nicely kept. The host at the desk however was almost robotic. Seems he has his lines down in a friendly manner when you check in but then after passing him several times, he'd never smile or even recognize you were in the same room. Good for family budget.

Mostly i was unimpressed with the cleanliness of the room, there were left over pretzels on the floor under the bed. The bed were comfortable, the linens need updating and wimdow screens were ripped in half like someone had broken in the past. Breakfast was nice in the morning and the people who worked there were very nice.

we picked this hotel for a visit to watch our boys play in their college basketball games. It was convenient to the major highways 87 and 90 and close to all the restaurants we like to go to. no problems - would stay here again.

the bathroom floor was dirty the whirlpool neede to be cleaned told the desk clerk he asked if i wanted another room otherwise it was a good stay for the price

Front desk was very efficient. Rooms are clean. Very good eating establishments nearby.

Yet another dirty Albany hotel! Do yourself a favor, NEVER stay at the Quality Inn Central. The night desk guy gave me false information about my reservation, pvc pipes we exposed in my room and the environment was overall dirty. Good news, the bed was comfortable and clean. BUT, a very bad experience - stay away!

The front desk staff is friendly and professional. My hotel room, though lacking in ambiance and rather small, was clean and well cared for considering the obvious wear and tear. The […] morning drive was rather short and easy since Central Avenue (Route 5) heads directly into downtown Albany. The return drive during rush hour naturally took a long time owing to the heavy traffic on Central Avenue - especially on the 2 mile stretch leading to the hotel. I was surprised and disappointed to see an exposed 2" PVC pipe above my bed and two waste baskets on top of my wardrope closet to catch any leaking water. Hard to recommend this type of room to anyone else. I expected better than that from this hotel.

It was our mid point break location. The hotel location is convenient for meals. Will stay again next time.

I spent the nigt because of a conference about 5 miles away. The price was cheap and reasonable. The decor was nothing great but the room was clean. There is not much going on in the general area (at least not within walking distance) as the place pretty much closes shop around 10 PM; however, it was a week night. The wi-fi worked fairly well and I […] had reasonable access in my room. I was close to the lobby so I don't know if I still would have had the same reception if I was placed further away. The only real inconvienience was the lack of cell phone service. I had to lean against my window to get only one bar. The only way to get good reception was to stand outside. Since I went in February, it was single digit weather and I could not make long phone calls. I could not receive phone calls when I was in the room. Another issue I had was with my credit card. I booked the room using a corporate card through hotels.com. I was told that I would not need that card and that my personal card would only be used for incidentals such as room service or maybe if I decided to set the mattress on fire and steal the towels. :) Anyway, I wound up being charged for the room. My company's corporate card was also charged. I had to have hotels.com contact Quality Inn Albany in order to have the charges reversed. Staff on the phone were nice and did work with me. Hotel staff were nice during my stay but I didn't have any major requests. There was a small pool and exercise room that was okay. I wasn't expecting much based on the price so, in summary, the hotel was decent for business only. i think it was a good place, everything was clean, the staff were really friendly! the only problem was the pool temp was cooler than expected but you could still swim in it.

Clean, comfortable, everything works well, nice family pool/hot tub. Workable 'gym'. Fabulous breakfast - w/make your own waffles even! Great variety of items.hot and cold. Nice folks.

We were in town for a sporting event for one of our children and traveling with children means one thing: A pool at the hotel!! Their indoor pool and spa were perfect for families. Not a huge pool for laps, but a nicely sized one perfect for Marco Polo and cooling off. The pool house (room) was also very warm. In the room, we had 2 queen beds---not […] found very often in this price range. There was a nice small fridge and microwave- both very handy to save money on dinner. We brought a premade meal and heated it up instead of going out. (that would have been more expensive than the room). There was even a small table with 2 chairs in addition to the desk. The beds were comfortable...plenty of pillows, comfortable bedding. The fixtures (bathroom vanity, clothing armoire, desk, etc) were a bit utilitarian, nothing fancy, but they were all in excellent condition and suitable for their purposes. The bathroom was perfectly clean...nice hot showers. We couldn't hear any hallway noise. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to get to from the highway. BREAKFAST: set up very early and replenished constantly. Eggs, sausage, bagels, ceral, fruit, you-make waffles, muffins, doughnuts, pastries, a variety of juices, coffee. I probably missed a few items. The staff was very helpful and did not rush us out of the pool at its posted closing time. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I did not have a good experience here. When we checked in we found that the spa tub wasn't working - which is why I booked the hotel in the first place. The room was ok, although we were put in a little room at the top of the stairs. Since the place has no elevator (that I could find) we heard a lot of coming and going, people were really rude and loud. […] Our room was also next to the "executive suite" aka meeting room and someone was hammering around all morning long, and talking, LOUDLY, all afternoon. Saturday morning, they tested the fire alarm every half hour for 2 hours, starting at 9am. Then again in the afternoon, so I got no sleep. Then after my husband and I went out for the day, our room keys wouldn't work. After lugging our groceries up the stairs, we had to come back down, only to have the desk clerk act like it was our fault - telling us our cell phones demagnetized the keys. we don't even own cell phones. There was no apologies. For anything. The desk clerk just 'assumed' it was our fault. We just wanted to leave, quickly, and never return. I won't stay here again. Too bad because it really was a cute hotel with a decent breakfast and nice rooms. The only plus was a HUGE flat screen tv in the room. The hotel was pretty nice. Our room had a huge flat screen tv, and a large mini-fridge, which we did not expect. The pool was kind of small, but the hot tub was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good as well. Eggs, sausage, and whatnot. For the price, i would definitely stay there again

The room is outdated and the bedding was stained and dirty. Even my young daughter felt disgusted by the poor quality of our room. We looked at the pool and I noticed that the pool water was not clear but cloudy which left me with the impression that it was not clean.

We had no problems during our stay. It was close to a conference location and shopping. The breakfast was good.

The room was clean and well equipped (fridge and microwave) but a little smaller than we would have liked. We paid about $20 more per night than we could have paid in comparable hotels that didn't have the pool and the fitness room. The only thing I found satiafactory was the comfort of the bed, Otherwise I felt like a sardine in a small room crammed with extra stuff and furniture.

The night staff was excellent, making sure a crib was ready, and being very hospitable. The morning staff chose to have a fight with someone over the phone for a good five minutes, looking me directly in the eye at a couple points, before they would assist me to check out.

i was told when i arrived that someone had switched my reservation from a single to a double and that the hotel was full..the clerk on duty switched me back to a single, which unfortunately was right next to an exit door and had probably been held as a "last chance reservation"..as if that was not bad enough, i found beer and juice in the refrigerator […] and food on the rug from the previous occupant..there were also medicine wrappers on the floor..it made me wonder whether the room had been adequately cleaned, including the bed..i examined the sheets etc. carefully and decided that they had not been previously used..finally, though there were enough pillows, they were flat and had to be uncomfortably stacked to be comfortable..not one of my best hotel experiences. First thing we notices walking up the stairs to the second floor room was the torn carpet on each step of the stairs. The next was the strong odor on the second floor hallway which was hard to describe. Luckily the room smelled better, if a bit musty, but it was incredibly small and cramped. Barely room to turn around let along put our luggage down. […] The breakfast, waffles, bagels, milk, juice was decent and free. Definitely not deserving of the 4+ star rating at hotels.com. Arrived at night. Man at the counter was not helpful to a customer who had washed his clothes but could not dry because the dryer was broken. And he was leaving the next morning. Counter guy should've at least try to go out of his way to assist. Another was the breakfast lady. Clean and comfortable, in a convenient location. Complimentary breakfast was good and more than in most similar hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a coffee maker, a small refrigerator and a small microwave in the room, and WiFi was free of charge.

I always get smoking rooms, and this hotel had an ingenious solution by having a glass door separate the smoking and non smoking areas of the hallways. And suprising, though the hallway smelled a bit smokey, our room was not bad at all. It was clean and comfy. We picked this hotel because we went to see Jerry Seinfeld in the Palace theatre and just needed to stay somewhere over night so we didnt have to do the 3 hour drive home at night. We picked this specific hotel for two main reasons, price and jacuzzi! Also the reviews were pretty decent for one of the cheapest hotels in Albany. It definitely met our […] expectations. Room was clean, and the fridge was bigger than most hotels. I was a little skeptical at first because the rate was so low but the reviews couldnt lie, and they were right. Definitely glad we went with this hotel. The jacuzzi and pool area apparently just finished renovations and jacuzzi was amazing! The rooms were very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing was that I didn't like the door to the room. It only had a chain lock and and a flimsy deadbolt. You can hear everything going on in the hallways.
