Swietna rzecz- to możliwość niedpłatnego pozostawienia bagaży w hotelowym 'jobocie' nawet na 24 godziny po opuczeniu pokoju. Polecamy, byliśmya bardzo zadowoleni.

This hotel is geared to international travelers. From that perspective, it's well located to many tourist sites (Empire State Building, Macy's, Broadway theaters) and close to all subway lines. The rooms, while clean, are tiny (we had a metro room) and the street noise is hard to avoid. I do not know how travelers with large suitcases could walk around […] their rooms. I travel to NYC for business alot but this trip was for a week vacation and based on the fact I needed a hotel w two beds and wanted to stay around $300 a night , we ended up here. although this is overall a decent enough hotel , we felt that the staff were per functionary but the concierge worked very hard indeed to satisfy people It is a large hotel so there is a lack of personal touch and if you asked for anything out of the ordinary such as being allowed to use the top floor viewing room then it was shut .... no reason or […] lea way , just shut end of. The whole surrounding area is one massive tourist trap and money magnet , it sucked the cash right out of our pockets for anything , very expensive and poor quality especially the food , avoid Times Sq like the plague if you want edible food , very small organic deli near hotel , still expensive but at least the food was reasonable quality. "4 Stars? Maybe in the 1960s..."
Based on my experience, I am quite baffled that anyone would rate this hotel as 4-star. This is a 2.5 star hotel, a 3 at best. I am not sure when the hotel was built but it is quite obvious that it has not been renovated for many years. Vintage decor is one thing but peeling porcelain in the bathtub, rotting doors, peeling paint on the wall, etc. is […] another. I have stayed at many hotels in the city and this is by FAR the worst, especially when considering the price point. Needless to say, I am very skeptical of the ratings and reviews for this hotel. I think most of the high reviews were given by tourists who were visiting the city for the first time. It is such a classic and historical hotel. We had a corner room on the 29th floor and the view was spectacular! The room was clean and tasteful. My boyfriend and I went to New York for the weekend to see the sights, as my boyfriend had never been to NYC before and I had never stayed in the city. Not having any comparisons to other NYC hotels, I would say that the New Yorker was a nice place to stay. I enjoyed the decor of the rooms (art deco) and our room was clean. We had one issue with the […] air conditioning which we noticed the first evening. It was around 7-8pm and we called the front desk and someone came up no more than 15 minutes later to check it out. He confirmed the unit wasn't working and could not be repaired that night. After about 1/2 an hour, a bellhop came up and we were escorted to another room which was the same type and just as clean, but with a working air conditioner. I was pleased how quickly they handled the situation. I have a service animal (which I informed them ahead of time) and we had no trouble with them allowing her in. They were even nice enough to upgrade us to a larger room to give us more space for the dog! The neigborhood is nice, close to Penn Station and a number of subway lines with plenty of businesses around. We took the bus up from DC and it dropped us off and picked us up less than a block from the hotel. Obviously it is a bit pricey, but what NYC hotel isn't? I would definitely stay here again! Room view was amazing as we got upgraded to a view of the city and the Empire state building in front of us, we couldn't stop looking out the window every time we came back to the room. The hotel is a little dated and needs some maintainace but nothing to be put off by. Room was on the small side but expected in NYC. Only thing to annoy me was we had […] a late flight leaving so checked out the hotel and left the bags with them, they charged us a follar each bag to hold, which I thought was silly as I've never heard of any hotel charging for this before. "Great fitness facility, great staff"
Staff was super helpful. Fitness facility is the best I've encountered at a NYC hotel-- as good as gyms I've paid for at home. Nice deep porcelain tub with a non-slippery textured bottom. On the downside, walls are paper thin so when my neighbor got up early and took a shower I was up too. This is a Statuesque looking Art Deco styled Hotel , certainly not a cheap place to stay, it has small rooms that appear to be the norm for New York. Be warned the little guy outside who hails the cabs for you is rude and if you dont tip him for doing nothing, then he gets mouthy with you. We hailed our own cabs (which is not hard in NY). "Ideal location!"
We took Amtrak into city and only had to walk 2 blocks to get to hotel. My daughter wanted to go to Chinatown and subway was right across the street. Easy walk to Times Square and American Girl Place. Hotel room was clean comfortable and remarkably quiet! We could not hear city noises during the night. We had busy days and were able to sleep comfortably. […] Loved the big old style tub and water pressure and temperature were a welcome change from most chain hotels. We will stay again! The rooms are very, very small and the housekeeping annoying - they knocked on my door 3 times each of the 2 days I was there, even when I had the "still dreaming" sign on my door. "A decent hotel, but not a 4 star hotel"
If you just want a place to rest your head for the night and you are looking for a great location close to Time Square, this place is fine. This is not, however, a four star hotel. It's an older building that really needs a make over and top to bottom scrub down. I didn't care for the unsightly stains in the grout and one of the walls. Hotel service […] is good...very helpful and polite. They sent housekeeping to clean the stains, but I shouldn't have had to ask for that service. Be very careful when you shower. The temperature is all over the place...very hot to very cold and constantly changing. Don't stand directly under that shower head. Overall, I think you get what you pay for. Front desk is rude and brusque. Coming from the airport, I was longing for TSA courtesy after dealing with the front desk here. Rude and condescending. And it wasnt just my initial agent Gabina.
