Within walking distance of the Boardwalk and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great free breakfast.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this hotel based on it's location to the peir, beach and entertainment only.

A good location to the pier and boardwalk. The hotel is older, but clean. The breakfast is fair, but there is not much seating. Weekend prices are very high for the quality.

The representative from hotels.com said it was the same as Rio Sands in Aptos. My children were looking forward to going swimming and spending time in the hot tub and swimming pool. Generally okay. Unfortunately the Boardwalk was not open when we were there so really nothing to do within walking distance. Most shoppping etc in Santa Cruz is downtown and you will have to drive there. Room recently remodeled and in good shape; lots of plugs to recharge devices. I didn't think the breakfast was all that great. No one seemed to be […] monitoring the food and things ran out before 10 am. I do recommend Gilda's on the Wharf. It appeared that the rooms were newly renovated and for the price, I thought it was much better than expected. The outside appears looks like a normal motel style. The inside of the room was clean, new looking and the location was walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to downtown and to the beach. We booked at the last minute and found that the price was a bit much, but I think overall, given the location, it was worth it. Added features of this hotel, (free) breakfast included in the price of the room. Newly renovated and looked fairly wellorganized. Sheets could have been cleaner. Friendly staff(family owned)

location was great just down the street from the Boardwalk. Room was clean and comfortable. would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good location, within walking distance to boardwalk, restaurants and sights of interest. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a little cramped, though, for the price.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay with our two granddaughters. The room was quiet, and the breakfast was terrific. The boardwalk was an easy walk, and the street was well lit late at night when we returned to our room. The parking was a bit difficult, but manageable.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpfull. Close enough to walk to the boardwalk even with little ones! Will definitely stay there on our next visit to Santa Cruz!

Very close to boardwalk clean the pool was very clean and warm perfect for a beach hotel and Santa Cruz

I think they keep the old bed sheets. It does not look like they change the bed sheets every time a new customer comes. They turn off the wi-fi sevice frequently

Not a very clean hotel. Did not feel safe in the neighborhood at all. the power went out for like two hours, so there was nothing to do. In their defense tho, the whole block lost power. The fan in the bathroom was so loud. My husband simply opened the door to the bathroom and the ceiling fan came off the ceiling! Walking distant to beach and broadwalk. Very friendly and accommodating.

This is a good hotel, the rooms and amenities are very nice, clean, and new. Television is very nice and looks brand new. Great service, great breakfast. Pool is very small but that is not a problem because the ocean is a block away. Parking is extremely limited however the hotel staff managed the limited space well. Just leave your key at the front […] desk so that you will not be bothered to repark or move your car when someone else is trying to drive out of a parking space. The location, less than a 5 minute walk from the beach/boardwalk was excellent for a family with teenagers! The continental breakfast was convenient too. The rooms were small but adequate for sleeping and showering.

THIS HOTEL IS JUST ABOVE AVERAGE FOR THE AREA. BREAKFAST IS AVERAGE. THEY NEED TO ELIMINATE THE HOSPITAL SMELL OF THE ROOMS. STAY WAS AS EXPECTED.

Good room. A bit pricey, but close to the Boardwalk. The beds were comfortable, although the bathroom was quite small. We slept well. Breakfast was good...
