Courteous, helpful, friendly staff. free internet. Comfortable beds. Exercise room. I would easily stay there again.

We were in town for the 5/3 River Bank Run, but weren't checking in until 4pm after the race. Despite this, the staff allowed us to park there that morning and took our name for an early check in and said they would do all they could to make it possible. I got a call halfway through the race saying our room was ready. What a blessing this hard working […] and considerate staff was to my husband and I. Our room was lovely and my favorite part (although petty) was the bath and body works shampoo, cond. and lotion. What a nice treat it was. I honestly cannot say anything bad about the hotel at all. great value and great location

I would definitely stay here again.

Did not include a breakfast. The resteraunt was expensive and the food was very bad!

Excellent Room and a competitive rate, parking included, across the street from Gerald Ford Museum and Van Andel Museum, across the river (walking distance) from Van Andel Arena, Devos Place and many other downtown attractions. I was impressed. Clean and quiet. They let us park in their lot all day after check-out.

This hotel is in the perfect spot for going to downtown GR. No more then 5-10 minute walk to anywhere you need/want to go. It is very very clean and rooms are so reasonable for being in a prime location. Would definately stay here again!!!

Unbelieveably bad service. Loud and rude people singing in the hallways and crashing into the walls. I actually left at 3 am because there wasn't a chance to sleep. When notifying management... they were very unconcerned and stated that it was because of a festival going on in the area. The room was also unbelievably hot... with no way to turn down […] the heat. We have stayed in this hotel four times in the last year and have always been satisfied with service, cleanliness and comfort. The hotel is very close to downtown and has plenty of parking.

Everything in the room was in good order. The food was very good at the bar, late in the evening, and in the restaurant for breakfast in the morning.

Easy on and easy off to the highway, good parking. Clean and close to the Devos place and everything in downtown GR at a good price. Why stay anywhere else?

The hotel and rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the service was great. The restaurant had good food at reasonable prices. It was a short walk to Van Andel Arena where we saw a concert.

Excellent hotel. I was surprised by the decor and quality of the bar and restaurant. I could have been staying at the W or something just as fancy. Except for no room service but breakfast, it was fantastic. You can take the pedway through most of downtown to get to the Arena without going outside. Nice neighborhood for downtown. Bar and restaurant are very stark and not very welcoming. Great desk chair is bashing up the desk furniture! Need a phone on the desk.

Amazing service and great location!!

Only there for one night, but Wi-fi was free, which was great, since I'm not familiar with the area, we could get directions and things from our room. Beds were super comfortable. The pool area was nice and clean. The water was super chlorinated, but it sorta needs to be. And no worries, it didn't bleach out our bathing suits or anything, just red eyes […] for a little while. Really, the only downside was that there wasn't a mini fridge/microwave in the room. But there was a fully stocked snack bar downstairs and a restaurant with full bar. Nice place. Overall, hotel was nice. Right off the expressway. Located downtown. You can walk everywhere. Rooms were clean, but small and cramped. Bathroom was tiny, but clean. Swimming pool was nice. Very warm. Kids loved it. Only issue we had was the fact that both nights of the stay, we were unable to sleep between midnight and 3 am. On each night a different […] room at our end of the hall hosted a party. The party was in the room and in the hallway. The first night after personally asking the tenants to quiet the party and making a call to the front desk, nothing was done. The second night it took almost three hours for somebody from the hotel to put an end to it. Those were two tough nights, especially when traveling with a 4 and 5 year old. We didn't get a lol of sleep. We read about it being a "Party hotel" but didn't pay much attention to it. Well, it lived up to its billing. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown. It's within walking distance of many attractions, food, bars - it's got it all. It is also a short drive from many other dining options. Would definately stay here again!!

The room was very nice with a refrigerator and a microwave. This was a nice unexpected convenience. There were assorted pillows with different firmness on the comfortable beds. This hotel was great. It is within walking distance (or very close driving distance) of all of the major attractions in Grand Rapids. The town is also wonderful. We went to the Zoo and the Children's Museum, both were excellent and within about a minute's drive. If you are looking for a great deal in Grand Rapids, this is the hotel.

Great experience. Super clean hotel...newly remodeled (we stayed May 2010) and couldn't be more pleased. 10min walk to the BOB and rest of downtown...perfect.

It was newly renovated, with a great bed, bedding, and large towels. The gym and the pool were nice, and the staff was helpful. Great location. Quite a bit cheaper than the other hotels on the other side of the bridge, with a nice (free) parking lot right next to the highway to catch my early flight in the morning. I stayed on November 9th,2009, newly renovated, this hotel will be a Holiday Inn in December 09. Hotel was really clean and covenient; right off the highway. The only downfall was it was right off the highway lol, is was kinda noisy at night.

I had an excellent stay here! Everything was new/updated and the staff was excellent. I couldn't have asked for a better place.

This hotel was being renovated but it didnt affect the service or quality at all. In fact, the staff was probably the most attentive I have had at a hotel. The rooms were way more than I expected, beautiful decor and very comfortable. I did have a little glitch of the toilet overflowing in the morning but I called the front desk and maintenance was […] there in less than a couple of minutes and fixed the problem. He even called housekeeping to bring me new towels and asked if I needed anything else. I would definitely go back to this hotel and recommend it to anyone. Even though this hotel is remodeling, it was a wonderful place to stay. I hope it stays that way when it becomes the Holiday Express.

We stayed at the Days Inn(which will soon change to Holiday Inn) during the weekend of the Grand Rapids Marathon. The hotel staff was exceptional, especially Mar and Josh. They didn't hesitate to go out of there way to assist us. My fiance was trying to find different areas along the race course to see me and they gave him directions. Each time he came […] back in they laughed and asked if they could help him more, which they did. They treated him like he was the only guest there at the time. Plus, the hotel let all the racers have late check out after the finish. This hotel is smoke free and one of the evenings as we were watching tv in our room, my fiance and I smelled cigarette smoke. Only thing we could imagine was smokers in the next room. We happened to run in to the maintenance man on our way out about an hour later, and he said he would check into it. AFTER MAKING OUR RESERVATIONS I LEARNED THE DAYS INN WAS CHANGING TO A HOLIDAY AND UNDERGOING RENOVATIONS. FEARING THE WORST WE PULLED UP TO A BLOCKED OFF CANOPY ENTRANCE AND PULLED AROUND THE BACK. WE WER PLEASANTLY SURPRISED TO FIND AN BEAUTIFULLY REMODELED LOBBY, RESTAURANT HEALTH CLUB SNACK BAR, ETC. OUR ROOM WAS BRAND NEW AND JUST LOVELY. Hotel and restaurant staff were very nice and ready to assist at a moments notice. This is the 2nd time I've stayed and will stay again in the future.

The hotel was under construction-changing to a Holiday Inn-but it was still very clean and tidy. If you didn't see the construction on the outside, you wouldn't have even known. Great location!! Would definitely stay again, especially for the price.

I loved the rooms, they were awesome! Huge & comfortable. The location was perfect too, easy walking distance to downtown including Van Andel Arena. The only complaint I have is the size of the pool & hot tub; both are small. If your looking for a central location with excellent rooms I definetly recommend this hotel.
