Great price, good breakfast great deal

For the price, this hotel would be hard to beat. Fairly easy to get to. Good hot breakfast. Large kitchen came in very handy for a 3 day stay. Very clean and well maintained.

Surprised at the size of the room for the price! 2-Story 2-Bedrooms 2-Full Baths ?!? It was more like an apartment! The breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly! Can't wait to return!!!!

They charged extra for the river-view room. We stayed on the seventh floor and still heard a trash compactor operating at 3 a.m. There were also trains that cross the river, I'm guessing 4-5 trains an hour. I questioned the check-out clerk about the extra charge and she didn't seem too interested in my dissappointment. This is also the first Marriot […] that I have stayed in where there was a charge ($5) for breakfast. We had a very nice overnighter at the hotel we were exhausted and this was a nice relaxing place to stay. The room was clean and quiet. I would tell my friends to stay here.

I stayed in this hotel a few years ago when it was just reopening from Renovations, and not quite done-so I didn't know what to expect. But It had exactly what I needed for a mother traveling with 2 children. The kitchen was perfect, and the bed and pullout was perfect. Common suite style lodging. Well maintained, clean, comfortable and quiet. Stayed 2 nights....returned to my room late evening to find no housekeeping service was done. Reported to front desk, rec'd apology but no offer of clean towels or other service. Breakfast bar very good. Includes hot items & changes daily. This hotel cannot be beat for the money. I never had real time to spend enjoying the actual environment but I have never found so much room for the price. It is like having an apartment to come home to. Kitchenette, living room and bedroom areas with large bathroom. What a deal. I will stay there off business sometime just because...

I would recommend this hotel to ANYONE! Every staff member was friendly, courteous and helpful. The room itself was better than I had expected. I realize one gets what one pays for, but I was quite uncomfortable in the room. Stained and chipped furniture, stained carpets, generally old decor and just a suspect-looking situation. I was only there a short time, but did not feel as if I could relax at all. It was close to the airport. These are really little apartments that would be great for a longer stay. The baths and appliances are older but all work. Would be great for staying with kids and if you wanted to cook.

Place smelled like one half of a pizza had been stuffed into the heating system. Filth and mold in the shower. I wouldn't even sit on the sofa I was so skived out. Kept my firearm within reach in bed. I used a high power flashlight to look for bedbugs. Other than that, a great place to stay.

This place is great... the room is very comfortable, the amenities including a full breakfast (eggs, sausage, hash browns etc) popcorn in the room, very comfortable overall. I could have stayed several nights there and been very happy. The only downside is that it is not overly handy to restaurants or other entertainment. It is directly across the Interstate […] from some great eating places but getting across Interstate is not convenient nor easy but once across there is a huge selection of great eating places. After spending 35 days on the road and this hotel was our final hotel before home, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would liked to have stayed longer. Spacious suite. Quiet! Recommend for anyone including families. Was there to visit the University of Dayton. Great place to stay for an extended amount of time as the room had everything to make for an economical visit (5' fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, range, dishwasher, pots, pans, utensils, dinnerware, glasses, mugs, etc.). Bring your […] own food and utilize the kitchen! Nice touch was all of the coffee, mints and a pack of microwave popcorn. Nice big comfy pillows too. Not what I would consider a place for a business person travelling in the Dayton area. Quite frankly, aside from being a very difficult place to get to off of the freeway (despite the fact you can see in from the freeway), the hotel is just not very well run and needs some $$ put into it (paint, bedding, etc.)

We were very pleasantly surprised by all the amenities in the units. The staff was exceptional. The breakfast was real. And Dayton has so many fun things to do. We had no idea. We would definitely stay at Hawthorne Suites again.

Our room was clean and comfy but parking spots were scarce. I also had loss of hot water briefly both times I showered. Overnight the first night we got some snow and ice but they kept all sidewalks well salted. We did not use the buffet breakfast. Overall, a decent stay and a good value.

Good breakfast. Nice full kitchen in the room, only minor complaint was the room was a bit drafty.

The room was very clean and convenient to the interstate. Breakfast the next morning was good. The staff I encountered was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Lots of positives with a few negatives... The office personell directed me to the 2nd UNATTACHED building when, in fact, my 2nd building was attached to the first one. I did not care to carry my bags up 2 sets of stairs. The mirrors had large smears. The non smoking room smelled strongly of smoke. Overall, for the price, very acceptable.

We weren't sure when we had so far to drive off I75, but were pleasantly surprised. We were upgraded to the penthouse and it was way behond our expectations. It was spotless and wonderful. We are going to stay there on our way home and recommend it to all our fellow travelers.

I love the location of the hotel and everything was clean and fresh. The location of the hotel was surrounding around so many other facilities that was easy to drive to. I did not experience the breakfast bar but heard from other vistors that it was excellent!

Nice staff, close to airport but the room was bad. My wife was checking for bed bugs after entering just how it looked. We both took showers and never had more than 30 seconds of constant temperature- it went from Very hot to freezing cold all throughout the showers. The sofa and bed were stiff and worn out. Our bed was a double size and the matress a bit soft. Otherwise, an excellent value for the cost. Breakfast was very good and lots of choice, hot and cold.

Nice townhouse style rooms w/kitchenettes. Clean w/comfortable bed. Parking is less than convenient in good weather & sucks during foul weather.

The hotels location is convenient. We checked in late night and were glad to find it in good condition. They had all the amenities in the room as mentioned. We really liked the morning breakfast. The only not so nice thing was the hole in the bath towel. But otherwise a good stay.

Stay here every time I visit family in the area (4-5 times a year). Have never been disappointed and continued to be amazed at the quality of stay and value for the price.

i had to go to dayton to meet a rescue transport that was coming thru dayton at 8 AM. made reservation night before-great night clerk,room was next to area to walk dog, room was well equiped and spacious.carpets are older but room was clean had everything you could need.clerks in AM helpfull .had wonderful evening w/ rescued dog,took her to meet her […] ride to RI and came back and took nap before checking out. great experience & will use again if in that area. Never stayed in Dayton before but if I do I will stay here again. Comfortable room/suite, pet friendly, decent breakfast.

Room was very nice, though I was surprised to see it was bi-level. This is a multi-building facility, so you may have to walk outside to get to your room. Also, there was not a lot of parking, so you might have to walk quite a way. Staff was courteous, though very busy. Would stay there again, once my toddler is a little better with the stairs.

I had always stayed at the Drury Inn, or Hampton Inn on the other side of the highway while visiting my sons at University of Dayton. But with money so tight and room prices going up I thought I would look at hotels.com. I couldn't believe the price for this hotel and decided to check out the reviews. The last time I tried to get a discounted price […] through one of these sites, the reviews were sooo bad I never booked the room. The reviews were great and I could actually stay there for 2 nights instead of just one. As it got closer to the date I began to get more and more nervous and started warning my husband to not expect much. The reviews were right on the money. Clean! VClean! Like a townhouse compound with Big Suite rooms with kitchens, full refrigerators, coffee maker in room. Fox News! Hot breakfast (very typical but more than adequate) in the morning. Paper in the lobby, wi-fi access. It was on the other side of I-75 but that was almost better since it was easier to get into and out of the hotel. Excellent service, very clean, well located near a lot of restaurants and stores, and the best part is the rate. This is our second stay in the Hawthorn and we are very pleased with the hotel and will be staying again soon.

I have stayed at the Hawthorne many times. Its always clean, the staff is always friendly. The only negative thing is the parking lot can sometimes get full.
