The Edison Hotel - Nowy Jork

The hotel is in the center of everything. The staff was very helpful and gave us great tips for things to see and how to get around the city. The only think I have to complain about is the jack hammer that went on from 11 pm until the following day at 10 am just outside our window. We had a very nice stay at this hotel. It's very convenient to Times Square and the theaters as well as some excellent restaurants. The hotel, while older, was quite comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only complaint we had was that it was not very sound-proof. Our room was nice, not big but I've stayed in smaller.. The bathroom was tiny but fine. The beds were comfy and everything worked including a nice wide screen tv. I loved having a doorman to get us a cab. The attached cafe for breakfast was nice. However, we couldn't get the room to cool down. We tried opening the window and turning on the air conditioner […] but it continued to be too hot to sleep. We should have called maintenance but we didn't...we just suffered. GREAT location in Manhattan: close to any places in walking distances.

Hotel Edison is newly remodeled art-deco hotel which is literally a few feet from Times Square. Service is excellent and management is very attentive and accommodating if problems are reported.

We really enjoyed our stay - walked everywhere from this perfect location. If you want a quick snack - Danny's next door is open 24/7 and had a buffet. Great restaurants 2 blocks away - Times Square within feet! I found it to be quiet (22nd Floor). Had a few room issues that were dealt with right away. Not used to small rooms like this one. Bathroom was terrible, you could hardly sit on toilet. No room.

Hotel location is awesome but hotel room is super old and very closed off. Bathroom could barely fit one small person. For the price, I would not recommend.

Good location, terrible showers, rooms need to be updated.

The best thing about the Edison is the location - right down the block from the TKTS booth in Times Square. The bad thing is that you have to pass the W hotel to remind you that you're staying in a dated hotel. The room was quiet which I appreciated - the bed was OK in terms of comfort. Everything about the room was small, including the bathroom. The […] transition from bedroom to bathroom was not finished and the nails we're protruding from the floor. The showers would never give us consistently hot water, and it took them 10 minutes of running to get to the right temperature each day.

I recently moved to another city for my job and had to travel back to NYC. I saw that I could get a room at the Edison and I couldn't resist. I have had meetings in the Cafe (I work in theater) quite a few times, but I'd never been in the hotel rooms. I found them clean, spacious enough for me and a short walk to everything I had to go to for this trip. […] I love eating in the cafe and it is one of NY's bargains. My adult daughter and I recently spent two nights at the Edison. We were quite happy with the cleanliness, noise level, service, etc. One negative, which could be significant to people who aren't very mobile - the shower does not seem to have "temperature balancing". In other words, I was shocked to see the temperature fluctuate to sometimes very cold […] and at other times VERY hot during a shower. This could be very dangerous. The hotel was very clean, personnel friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was right. Cafe right in the lobby, good inexpensive food. Close to all the shows and shops. Would definitley go back again....

Even though the Edison is showing its age it is still a good choice if you want to be close to Times Square and the Theater District. Our room ( #708 ) was more than adequate, old but clean. Small bathroom with leaky faucet but it was very clean. Enjoyed the cafe for breakfast but walked west a block or two and enjoyed the many restaurant choices in […] Hells Kitchen for dinner. Subway stops located 4 blocks north and south were easily accessed but a little confusing finding which train we wanted. After a few rides it was easier and we never felt unsafe. If you plan to see any Broadway Shows see "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert". Great show, great music, great story, funny, touching.. We also saw Wicked. The hotel was great!! Very clean and tidy. The front desk staff and all the other staff were very friendly and the restaurant downstairs was incredible. We would order breakfast and it was delivered in less time than it took to take a sip of coffee!! The location was good however rooms very tiredwe had chips in furniture crack in sink. there was supposed to be three of us in the room thank goodness there was only two as it would have been really cramped. As we were in our rooms for a very short time it was bearable it was classed as budget hotel so i guess you have to weigh up location re room condition. I have stayed at the Edison several times and have recommended it to friends. You can't beat the convenience! The Edison's restaurant is a great value too!

We stay here from time to time when we visit NYC and love the place. Art deco designs throughout the hotel make you feel like you've gone back to another era when you walk in the door. You'll also meet people from all over the world in the elevator, in the bar, in the lobby. I like that. The beds are comfortable the showers are OK and the staff is friendly. […] Can you fiind somewhere more modern with bigger rooms and beds? Yes. But it's going to cost you a lot more and I can pretty much guarantee you that what you'll give up in convenience to the theatre district and other sights of the city will offset any creature comforts you feel like you're upgrading to. When we go to the city we're not hanging out in our room anyway. If that's your goal, stay home. If you want to live it up, eat well, see some shows/sights and, generally, get away for a while come to NYC and stay at the Edison. You'll be glad you did. Przeczytaj więcej

Our family of four enjoyed a great 'mini' visit to NYC this March; the Edison Hotel is the perfect starting point for everything we wanted to see in the city. Times Square was alive with excitement, but also very clean and safe - so much better than we remembered from many years ago. Almost literally ON Times square, great place to stay if you are interested in theater or musicals. The hotel restaurant serves pretty heavy diner food, but the latina waitress was very sweet and didnt mind explaining the menu. My only gripe was the fact that they knocked on the door several times to clean the room early on checkout day. We were checking […] out a Saturday and they came by to clean the room at 8.30, 10. Come on, its a weekend, let the guests sleep in peace. I went out to get a coffee and when I got back at 10.30 the bathroom sanitizing guy was there, and he stayed while I packed my things. The room was comfortable and clean; the location couldn't be beat; the price was right. Lovely art deco lobby. My only complaint was that the pillows were too hard and too big.

Service was to be desired. The staff very bad mood.

I stay at the Hotel Edison occasionally when I visit New York to see theater. The location can't be beat for Broadway shows and Theater District/Hell's Kitchen restaurants. My room was unfortunately located on the 46th St side of the hotel, and I could not fully block with the window curtains the giant blinking LED Dianetics billboard that was on all […] night. Next time I would ask to be moved to a different room (it was better than being behind the elevator bank). The rooms I have stayed in are a bit shabby, but clean. This time there was a strong vinegar smell to the bathroom after cleaning. Staff was pleasant. When I can get a price break on the Edison, I stay here for the convenience of the location. If you are on a budget and want to be in the middle of Times Square, this is the place. This is not the place if you want lavish accomodations and amenities. The Edison is a centrally located, comfortable, affordable place to sleep, clean up, and store your shopping bags. We will definitely be back.

The Edison is a very old hotel but that makes the stay so different than other franchise hotels. We switched from our first room because of the view and odor in the bathroom and they were more than accomodating to move us. Our second room had beautiful antique furniture. Lots of old hotel charm at the Edison. The staff was very helpful and polite. The restaurant and bar were comfortable and not overly pricey. The location is excellent: easy walking distance to Times Sq, Broadway shows, restaurants , and subway portals to the rest of the City. Loved it!
