"Perfect for airport and Expo Center travellers"
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and attentive. It seemed that no matter what time of day I was out and about, there was always someone cleaning or tending to things in some way. While the hotel is easy walking distance to the Fair/Expo Center, there are no convenient dining options close by. You should […] plan to either take your meals in the hotel restaurant (which was decent and reasonably-priced), or drive to find food. My only complaint about the food is that the breakfast bar was not well-tended, and biscuits and french toast were allowed to sit until they became rock-hard. The staff brought out fresh when asked, but I shouldn't have had to ask (this happened two days in a row). Overall, I was very please with my stay, and would definitely recommend this hotel again. "Much better than expected"
I wasn't thrilled about "having" to stay at this property, but needed to do so to attend a conference being held at the hotel. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! The hotel and room was very clean and comfortable. The room and bathrrom were quite large. The girl at the front desk was very friendly. The room was spacious. Extra sink outside of bathroom was convenient. Hotel recently updated. Close to highway-near fairgrounds. Only complaint was our room was on the west side and could hear the Fed Ex planes taking off about 4 AM and also the trains so we left early in the morning.

It was an awesome stay there at the hotel. My fiance and I went there to go to a Kentucky mens' basketball game and it was awesome that they had a taxi, that was free, that you could take over to the game and they picked you up right at the front door. Everyone was so nice and the place was beautiful!

"Visit to Louisville"
I was doing some sight seeing in Louisville and I stayed at the Crowne. It was a nice hotel. The room was nice, but the heating unit was insufficient to heat what was a large room, so it took a while to heat the room. But otherwise everything was vice nice. The hotel was very convenient to the airport and Churchill Downs. The staff was very nice.
I should have been tipped off when I arrived in the room to find some ear plugs on the bed. The air traffic and noise goes all night long. I will not return.
"Comfortable and clean."
The hotel was exactly what we needed for a short stay in Louisville. The room was quiet, clean and well-appointed. We also ate breakfast and dessert there twice and found the food to be very good.

Had the pleasure of staying at the Crowne Plaza Louisville this past week. I was traveling with my daughter and 3 grandchildren. We were greeted by a very friendly desk clerk who took the time to explain where everything was, what the hotel offered and asked if we needed more information. My husband, myself, our 23 yr. old daughter and 18 yr old son stayed here. We stayed her because it was close to the airport and close to downtown.We were disappointed. Price was same as Hampton Inn which we stayed at in June.The beds were uncomfotable A/C was loud and only went as low as 78 and there were sales people in their rooms with product in […] the halls. The elevators had sticky notes all over it stating "rooms open" with the room number. We got back to the hotel around midnight and they were still going strong in their rooms trying to sell their wares.I just found it to be a little more for the business traveler than family or comfort. The front desk staff was very friendly. We did not use room or any food services because we were there for Army Graduation and were not in the room for more than 6 hours. "Hotel Front Staff Was Rude"
When I arrived to the hotel, which was supposed to be pet friendly, I talked to the front desk person about my dog. This person rudely said no we are not pet friendly. So we found a friend to watch the dog for us. Turns out they were she just did not understand the rules of the pet fee. Originally we also had a reservation for one night. We called Hotels.com […] and added a night before our original reservation. The hotel staff could not figure this out. so we had to check in twice. At which they tried to tell us we did not have a reservation for the second night. Really they just did not take the time to look it up. Then checking out after the second day they tried to charge us for having a pet even though we never brought the pet because were told they were not pet friendly. Again they could not put this together. They told me I had to wait for the cleaning staff to clean my room and verify there was not pet in the room. Which is really when I got to the point of annoyance. After talking to another front desk person they did not charge me the pet fee and I was able to check out. "fantastic location!"
My family and I were in town for a show at the Kentucky EXPO center and this hotel has THE BEST location! Directly across the street! The hotel is nice...in its prime I'm sure it was the best of the best. The pool is big and well maintained and the kids loved it. The room service is a nice perk and the food is good. "Problems solved"
Great place. Had some issues with my room at first but was upgraded and comped breakfast for the family after letting management know. They were very professional and on top of the issues as soon as they were aware. The rest of the facility was great. Pool has a life guard too which is great for the kids. This is my new Louisville hotel

worst hotel I've ever stayed in for what I paid. would have been good at half that price. restaurant is expensive and VERY POOR service.
"Crowne Plaza- site of ABR exam"
Got stuck in a room next to elevators on a night when they were sold out. I could hear the elevator machinery every 10-20 minutes and couldn't sleep. They wouldn't give me a late check out (so I could catch up on sleep), in spite this explanation. I would ask to be far from the elevators.

The Crowne Plaza at the KY Expo Center was extremely close to our destination for business and the airport along with all of the staff being overly helpful and friendly. Thank you for a great stay.

The hotel was very clean, everyone was friendly, the pool had a lifeguard that was great! The restaurant food was delicious. Overall a great experience. Would definitely stay here again.
"A little pricey considering"
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. It is incredibly busy and woeful understaffed on the front end. Long lines to check in and out. Bell staff is under the gun running the shuttles, bags and who knows what else. If you can't find any bell staff, knock on the door beside the stand. They hide out. Never take a room near an exit, an ice […] machine, or an elevator. After making a reservation a month ahead of time here, the ONLY room they had left was next to the ice machine. While no one ever used the machine in the middle of the night, the drain was connected directly to my sink. It sounded like I was camping next to a stream even with the door closed. The hotel is nice; It is near the airport and the convention center. Nothing else. The hotel restaurant was ok, The buffet was on the menu, but the 2 days I spent at the hotel they were not serving the buffet. You are a few of miles away from downtown Louisville. Slept well, nice room

I was dissappointed with the accomodations at the Crowne Plaza. The bed was comfortable, however, the sheets felt like paper. There was hair on the floor in the bathroom. There was a broken toilet paper holder left on the back of the toilet. The drain in the bathtub was very slow, leaving me to stand in about 4 inches of water while showering. "Double check your room"
While the lobby and public areas are wonderfully appointed and the room was alright for what it was, it did not live up to our expectations from the room options on the site. The site seemed to indicate an option of two queens and a sleeper sofa. When we arrived, we were told that this was an either/or sort of thing, which raises the question, "Who […] would take a room that only had a sleeper sofa in it?" When we pointed this out to the clerk, he located a rollaway for us that we had to cram into a corner of the room, making the room very cramped. Also be forewarned that the Crown Plaza takes pets ( a dog show was apparently in town), so if you have severe allergies...In hindsight, I would have called the hotel to get the precise nature of the accomodations before I booked. "Close to airport- unhelpful reservation desk"
We booked a King suite because we had two adult children to share the accomodations. The "suite" was only 1 room with a King bed and a fold out couch. When we complained that a "suite" was more than 1 room, they told us they couldn't help us since it was booked on-line.

Had a great stay. Great food at the bar/restaurant. Nice pool area. Within 2 miles of Churchill Downs and 5 miles to downtown Louisville. Great hotel overall. Would definately come here again.

"Good food, service, and everything else!"
We stayed here because Wonderfest, a monster and sci-fi model convention, was held here in mid-May, 2010. The maid made sure our room was cleaned every day no matter how late we got out the door--clean towels, made the beds, etc. My son and I ordered off the menu and ate the breakfast buffet. The food was outstanding. It's the best food I've had at […] a hotel in a long time. Perfectly cooked. It wasn't oversalted. Although they had an omelet and waffle area where a chef would make you what you want, we didn't get it. But looking around the room at the other people who took advantage of that service, their food looked really good. We also had room service one night and it tasted delicious too. I bought something in the gift shop which was really nice, a very unusual, reasonably priced necklace. They had a lot of nice things that were reasonably priced. We also tried out the indoor pool. (it was raining outside.) It was clean and because I had a child with me, I had to sign in. I thought that was a nice touch for security and safety reasons. This is a great hotel, near the airport, and other fast food places. And Louisville also looks like a fun place to visit. We were there for the convention only and it was bad weather so we stuck to the hotel. I would recommend this place to everyone. Air/Heat unit was falling apart. Shaving mirror had a light bulb burnt out. Caulking around tub ugly and moldy. Night light in bathroom burnt out.
