No one answers the phone....I couldn't get the shuttle bus from the airport, couldn't order room service, couldn't receive a call from outside. No one answers the phone. Bathroom tile was loose. The room was very hot. Management said "that is just the way it is". A really really marginal hotel.

Very close to airport (5mins in free shuttle) with decent rooms and wide choice at breakfast. Free wifi in lobby, but if you get a 1st floor room you can just about get access to it, otherwise it is wired internet in the rooms at €12/day. The hotel was located nearby airport, which was my reservation criteria. The transport was quick, I used taxi when I arrived, (16,00 €), and Hotel shuttle bus when I left. Room was big and quiet, it had a nice small office table, where you can work if needed. The shower and toilet facilities were nice. Some local restaurants very acceptable. The hotel recommended a tapas bar and it was very good.

Shuttle only picks you up at the airport if you call the hotel. A traveler without a cell phone is out of luck. Nobody at the airport was willing to call for us. The pillows were terrible. The shuttle driver back to the airport dropped us off at the wrong terminal. I notified the hotel about this and they promptly apologized. The hotel advertised a […] pool but neglected to say that it is closed in Autumn, even though it was 85 degrees Fahrenheit outside the first week of October. Great location and good service. Free shuttle to and from the airport. 400 meters to the metro station. Hotel was clean, and the staff very helpful. Great hotel for the money.

I thought being a Melia property, this would have been a better hotel. The pool was dirty and not well maintained. The wifi was only available free of charge in the lobby and the reception personnel were not very helpful or welcoming. The parking is expensive and the bar waiter embarrassed us by his suggestion that he include our drinks on our friends's […] tab. Great Hotel, Great Staff as with every Melia I have ever stayed in!

Excellent value! Very clean and modern. Convenient to airport but not to very many tourist sites. We stayed there the night before we departed Madrid and it was a perfect choice. Staff was very helpful and efficient. The only improvement I would suggest is to have a breakfast kiosk where one could purchase a quick bite to eat.

The location is very close to the airport and very convenient to get in and out. Also, close to a metro station with access to the City center and fine restaurants. If you will use the shuttle to the airport, just give yourself some extra time. For the price this is a very good deal.

I thought your hotel was lovely, clean and the trans-portation from and to the airport was an added bonus. We had dinner and breakfast while we were there and it too was great.

This property is not typical of this great hotel chain. It's old, tired and a bit dirty. The only advantage is that it's close to the Madrid airport.

Great hotel beauitful rooms, but the beds were like sleeping on a board, very hard but I guess that most places in Europe

Too bad the hotel staff was my first encounter with people in Madrid. They were kind of snotty. The hote, the room and the area were fantastic. The food at the hotel is horrible. Don't sign up for the food, go out in the neighborhoods.

We had a misunderstanding with the hotel staff regarding the discount in the hotel restaurant, and the staff was not willing to make any concessions. Be sure to verify with the restaurant staff whether or not you have a discount in the restaurant.

I have rarely stayed at a more horrendous hotel. Don't be fooled by the proximity of the hotel to the airport or the "Melia" brand name. We stayed over to catch an early flight. What a mistake! The wait for the shuttle bus was short (10min). No greeting at all upon check-in..no good evening, information on restaurant, or facilities. I had to re-confirm […] that room was pre-paid. The room was tired, old, but clean. I'm not sure I got the type of room I requested but late at night who's gonna complain? The restaurant offered a very expensive buffet so we decided to eat at the bar...another mistake. The food was barely edible and service was, well, non-existant. The wake-up call happened on time. Check-out was uneventful, and curt. The kicker was the shuttle bus back tot he airport. We queued up outside (30 min before) with some other folks who were already in the queue. When the bus arrived a mad scrabble ensued and we were left behind because there was no room for luggage! What seemed like a 20 passenger van only had room for about 10 suitcases. So, while there was room in the bus for passengers there was no room for luggage! The very ineffective security guard who mismanaged the whole affair suggested we take a cab! Which we did. The cab cost was about 12 Euro. Here is the moral of the story: don't be fooled by the free shuttle the service is awful so staying further away in a nicer hotel and taking a cab might be a better option. Przeczytaj więcej

This is a perfect place for those needing a nice hotel close to madrid airport. The surrounding neighbourhood is not great, but we've used this hotel several times when we were arriving in Madrid the evening before a early flight to the US the next morning. When you see it from a distance, you may say 'what have I done!'. The exterior is very bland, but the interior is beautiful! The service was wonderful, as was the food. We would certainly stay there again.

We experienced a glitch in getting picked up at the airport. We waited over an hour, but finally a bus came. We were under the impression that one came by every 20 minutes or so-one of the reasons for picking the hotel. Other than that, the stay was very good. Our room was large and very nicely appointed. AND quiet! We only had a drink downstairs and […] went into the neighborhood to eat. I am sure that the restaurant was lovely but we did not need a full expensive menu. Their shuttle even at 4AM in the morning was reliable and operated every 20 minutes. Hotel was solid 4+ start place. We used it for one night during a plane changeover

We had to wait over 30 mins for the shuttle to take us to the hotel, while other hotel shuttles came by twice. The walls in our room were very thin, I could hear my neighbor snoring. The restaurant did not open until 8:30 pm which is restaurant time in Spain but in an airport hotel it would have been helpful to have earlier service. From the friendly reception at the front desk, to the spacious room with an outstanding bathroom - including a tub and a shower with quality Grohe hardware - to the delightful buffet dinner, my wife and my last night prior to departing from the Madrid airport was a night to remember.

We stayed at the Melia Barajas for one night because we had an very early flight out the next morning. They have a free shuttle to the airport that runs all day and night. The hotel is great for that purpose as it was clean and the staff tried to be helpful. I wanted an extra pillow and it was delivered immediately. I thought the restaurant prices were […] a bit expensive but there are other restaurants within a block or two. The neighborhood looked a little sketchy and the fact the hotel is surrounded by a fence with barb wire at the top doesn't install confidence that I would want to be walking around the neighborhood after dark. MY one complaint is they charge for internet in the room. It is free in the lobby on their computer but if you have your own lap top they want to charge you. Now days all internet should be free when you pay for your hotel. This is enough of an issue for me that I would consider another hotel. Their web page does not make it clear you pay for internet in your room. That needs to be fixed. This hotel is a very short distance from the airport, but far enough to be quiet. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The only drawback is quality dining choices nearby. The restaurant in the hotel is quite good, but a bit expensive.

The hotel was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed having a glass of wine and tapas in the lobby bar after checking in. The price for the wine was quite reasonable. Our room was small but comfortable. The one surprise we encountered was difficulty turning on the lights. We learned that you needed to place your room key in the small slot inside the door […] in order for the lights to work. Hotel was fine. Only thing that was frustrating was that in order to get out of the lobby and walk to the elevator, one has to walk up a flight of stairs. Since I am slightly handicapped and walk with a cane, it would have been helpful to have a railing to hold on to while walking up the stairs to the elevator. Same is true for the next level ( bar) […] from where you have to again walk up a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant. Again, no railing to hold on to. Although this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel it was in need of some TLC. Carpet was dirty, walls had paint missing, etc. The location is convenient, right on the Metro course and they have an airport shuttle as well.

This hotel is very convenient to the airport and the shuttle arrived within 10 minutes of us arriving on the hotel platform. No need to call the hotel. In addition, the metro is a short 5 minute walk from the hotel. Very convenient to lots of area attractions.

metro was at walking distance & they had free shuttle service to the airport departing every 30 mins. the hotel room was very clean and had internet conection (non wi-fi)

hotel was decent for location purposes, near the airport and not far from city center if you have a car. easy access to public transportation and shopping but nothing near the hotel.

This hotel was a very big and pleasant surprize for us. The lobby, halls, dining rooms and all guest rooms are very large, modern and on the elegant side. The room service was very good and the food excellent. The only reason we are rating it with 4 stars is that the beautiful outdoor pool was closed for maintenance the day we were there, yet we saw […] no one even attempt to work on the pool all day and it was closed again the next day when we left. The enclosed grounds surrounding the pool are gorgeous. One big note: this hotel is completely fenced and the security is top notch. This one feature is very meaningful; furthermore they have a regular (every 15 minutes) shuttle for the one mile trip to Barajas Airport beginning at 6:00 a.m. We also noticed that many airline personnel from a variety of internationl airlines stayed there. Great overall experience. Very convenient to the airport and has great access to public transportation. The hotel is clean, quiet and overall a great place to stay.

Overnight hotel stays between flights are never a fun thing for me, especially if I am on holiday. Having said that, the staff at the Melia Barajas in Madrid just might change my mind... When I got to the hotel after taking the shuttle (which I did have to call at Terminal 4, I will say), I was welcomed be an very friendly bellboy and an even friendlier […] front desk person. As my flight was only the next day late in the afternoon, I was already preparing my schtick for the receptionist as to why they should give me a late check out, at least until 1 PM so I would not have to hang around the airport for too long. Before I could open my mouth, she asked me what time my flight was the next day and immediately offered a more than adequate late check-out. Needless to say, with the UEFA Championship game between Barcelona and Man U being played that night I would stay at the hotel, I found myself smiling more broadly then usual. The room was very nice, clean, well decorated, comfortable. The bed was just the right stiffness for my bad back, and room service was fast, cordial and tasty. The breakfast buffet the next day had a nice variety, everything seemed fresh, and the staff continued their friendly trend. Check-out (spontaneously-offered very adequate late check-out, in case you had forgotten) was fast and with no errors. Not to mention a nice "Hasta luego" bracketed by smiles left and right. El Hotel como infraestructura es buenisimo, pero tienes que llamar por telefono al hotel para que te recojan y no contestan el telefono. Deberia el shuttler ir al aeropuerto con una frecuencia pre establecida sin que tengas que estar llamando.
