Enjoyed our stay at the hotel unfortunately the state of Princes street under repair does nothing to attract tourism.

"convenient location"
Convenient for museums, galleries, castle and shopping
hotel nice.warm welcome from reception guy.room clean,with lovely view. bath bit small,as my boyfriend is 6 feet tall.only thing was,i cannot understand why the maid was trying to come in our room at 9am on the saturday morning. think 80 pound was a bit pricey.

The hotel itself is in a great location, value for money, and everything about the hotel was amazing. However when I booked the room on hotels.com I booked for a double room which had a double bed and a single bed. Once I got to the hotel on the day i was told that there was no such room, luckily they had a double room with two single beds so was resolved, […] but i paid extra compared to what i had initially paid for and what i got. "Perfect location for weekend visit!"
We arrived at the hotel at 11am expecting to be told that we couldn't check in until the afternoon, but we were told our room was ready! We had booked a 'superior with castle view' - allocated room 771. It was just like the one shown with balcony. What a view - 180 degrees! Bed was a little hard, but after a long day sightseeing didn't really notice. […] Bathroom was small and dated but again not really a problem. When checking out they have a storage room for your luggage until you are ready to make your way back to the airport. Don't bother with taxis - Airlink 100 right outside arrivals £6 each return and they seem to run every 10 minutes. For this hotel just get off at the end of the line - Waverley station - the hotel is between Jenners and M&S on Princes Street. The hop-on, hop-off bus tours are great, especially for a first vvisit to the city to get your bearings. Again these are located by the station. We had a lovely early evening meal in the Amber restaurant in the basement of the Whiskey Experience just by the Castle. Two starters, two mains, bottle of wine £45.00. was a bit worried reading some reviews of the hotel on arrival and seeing room the negative comments did not hold water the hotel surrounding were very good re. cleanliness and decor. It is one of the most central hotels for bus train and airport bus also for tourist trips. one night stay guest

A little bit jaded, but clean and comfortable. Room service food ok. WIFI doesn't work on the 7th floor.

Perfect setting in the centre on Princes Street. Fantastic view of the castle and surrounding area from the Restaurant especially at breakfast. Great for access to bus from the airport and the open top bus tours, about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Buy the Edinburgh pass which gets you into The Castle, Holyrood Palace and Royal Yacht Brittania and […] saves about £25. Also gives you unlimited travel on the Open Top Buses. Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt i Edinburgh. Ansatte ved resepsjonen er vennlig, men spesielt om natten ikke særlig kompetent. Rommene har svært varierende komfort. Anbefaler 2. etage frontfacing, der får man WiFi signal fra lobbyen og har flott utsikt over gamle byen. Jeg hadde et trangt rom i 4. etage med 4m utsikt i en skitten bakgård. Rent,god standard og sentralt beliggende. Servicen helt upåklagelig.

Student, sov over en natt, med shopping som hovedmål. Stort rom, rent og pent med trådløst internett på rommet (noe det står på nettsiden at det bare er i de offentlige rommene på hotellet). Beliggenheten er knallbra, du får vel ikke noe mer sentralt - bare et par minutter å gå fra togstasjonen. Er du/dere følsomme ovenfor gateliv og musikk, ville jeg […] spurt i resepsjonen om å få et rom som ikke vender ut mot Princes street, ettersom (til tross for at jeg var 3 etasjer høyere opp), kunne jeg tydelig høre hva som foregikk nedenfor. "Mitt i händelsernas centrum"
Mycket bra läge. Nu vet jag inte hr de andra rummen ser ut, men det rum med dubbelsäng vi fick va väldigt trångt och utsikten va urdålig. Hotellets vetilationstrummor va precis utanför fönstret, och en tegelvägg så långt man kunde se åt alla håll. Maten va kanon, samma med servicen. Kommer nog att återvända till detta hotell.

Hotellet, hvad enten det nu hedder Ramada eller Mercury ligger dejligt centralt i Edinburgh - Air Link fra lufthavnen og man står 3 min gang fra hotellet, 7 fra busstationen , 8 min fra Royal Mile. Skulle jeg finde en enkelt lille ting at knurre over, skulle det være dette, at det havde været rart at få at vide at hotellet havde skiftet navn, det gav […] en del bryderier ved ankomsten - men meget bliver tilgivet ved den enestående hjælp fra personalet.
