I could not get the heat turned down, I tried to adjust it before bed, but woke up in the night and it was still warm.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road in Colonie. I chose it for the convenient location; and based upon the positive referrals I read. Unfortunately the room we had was showing signs of aging. The wall paper was starting to peel and the shower curtain was ripped. We had no coffee pot so I had to keep going down to the lobby for coffee, without […] realizing that the coffee at the desk was $3 per cup! The beds were very firm and I only had one pillow that was not firm despite the fact that two pillows were labelled "softer." The TV had been locked so we had to wait quite awhile for maintenance to come up to unlock it. We didn't realize that the "light-blocking" curtains were hidden from view on the very inside of the sheer drapes so the light in the morning woke us early. The red blinking light on the phones was an annoyance in the room after the lights were turned out. Most of the lights were accessible with manual switches so the room was dark when we came in late. This Holiday INN was a nice clean place to stay if you are in Albany but just make sure you do not get a room just off the pool or events area. I got to the room tired and a wedding had started that night at 7PM the music was loud that I could barley hear my TV in the room. The Music went on until 11PM. I went to the bar to escape this very lowd music […] just out side my room. I awoke in the morning tired and and half asleep to arrive at the airport. The hotel was a little older and the room was very small. I thought the price was a little inflated for what we got. Website gave the impression of new and spacious rooms so it was a little deceiving. But it was a great location, very close to the airport.

I was very satisifed with my stay in this Hotel, would recommend and would stay again, BUT.....try to request a room in the main part of the hotel, not in the tower. This area of the hotel was very far from the front desk and it was old and there was a stale smell in the air. You had to travel through the housekeeping area. I'm sure if we drove around […] the building you could access another door, but you don't know this until after you have carried your luggage and toted yoru family to the front desk. The room itself was spotless and please visit the 205 on Wolf Pub/Bar food and drinks were very good and it is a pleasant atomesphere. Really not complaints except for where the room was located. This hotel is in a convenient location near the interstate and the airport. This was our first stay at this location. The staff were helpful and the rooms were clean. The beds were excellent. Our particular room opened into a dining hall that was used for convention guests. There was some noise starting at 5:00 AM, because the tables had to be set. Prior to setting the tables, the room was unattractive to look out to, because of its bare tables . That room also had a strong chlorine odor from the indoor pool which was adjacent to it.. The equipment in the gym did not work which was very disappointing . The pool was beautiful but it was not lit up or open in the evening. The hotel was clean and in a great location.

Pool was great, the rooms were adequate. The indoor rooms are a little different. You can tell it has been there for a while. Restaurant on site was good for breakfast buffet (not included in price of stay). The kids eat free which was a bonus. Very busy hotel, there were always people coming and going. Noise level was low, after the pool closed […] at 9pm, we didn't hear anything. the two bed rooms seem to all have double beds, not queens, so they were a bit small. Hi drove to Albany from Montreal on Sunday Aug 28 (aka Irene). Upon my arrival 4 hours before check in I took a chance, upon verification I was able to get a room. This was great since I was able to relax. The coffee/snack shop in the hotel is convenience since starbucks around the corner wasn't open. Room was very clean no issues. Bathroom and shower […] were good as well. The one draw back is internet, there should be wifi and there is only ethernet cable It had a few interruptions but over was good once I had it working. There is wifi I believe in common areas. .As well my door had an issue with it wasn't automatically locking, an employee cleaning the room adjacent immediately called maintance and they were there super fast and fixed it. I stayed in the Towers on the first floor. The carpeting in the halls needed cleaning and there were several glasses from room service on the floor next to my room for my entire 2 and a half days. We stayed 1 night and it was fine. The service was good and the restaurant in the hotel was good too. The kids really liked the indoor and outdoor pools as well as the games room especially. The only thing that was not really an issue is that we stayed in the tower which I believe was an older section of the hotel but it looked like they put effort […] in to bring it up to today's decor. I showed up very late at night due to flight delays and still waited in line for 15 minutes to get checked in. Once checked in, i was told the best way to get to the room was to drive all the way to the back of the hotel. The keys they gave me would not open the back doors to the hotel. Drove all the way back to the front desk, waited in line again, […] got keys that opened the back and the room. Once in the room I noticed a take out container, open on the desk, an ashtray full of cigarette butts, and in the bathroom used soap in the soap dish, and dirty towels on the counter. I called the front desk, they said they'd send someone to clean it up. Not overly impressed by this hotel at all. The room was not ready, check in was suppose to be 4:00, arrived at hotel at 4:50, was told room was still dirty and would take about 10 minutes to clean(??, how clean are you getting it in 10 minutes??), however the room was still not ready for an additional 40 minutes. Overall this was a great hotel in a good location. We read some negative reviews but are glad we focused on the positive. We were situated in the Tower section of the hotel and the room was great and we had lots of room. We had 5 people in the room (2 queen beds) and had a cot brought in. I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels in many cities.I paid a lot of money for one night at this hotel and I expected comparable quality. Instead, as I walked down the hallway to my room, I saw the hallway littered with small pieces of paper and other scraps. It was just plain filthy. I couldn't believe how dirty it was, to the point that I […] felt the need to check my mattress for bedbugs as soon as I got to my room. Fortunately the mattress seemed fine. There was a musty smell to that area of the hotel. The mattresses on the beds in my room bore the imprints of years of people sleeping on them. The breakfast buffet was not appealing either - the eggs had been there quite a while and were dry and hard. The wait staff was not attentive either. All in all, I found it appalling that a hotel that I paid this kind of money for bore more resemblance to a cheap motel. I am not the type of person to complain, but this hotel is not up to its purported quality. We spent a weekend here to enjoy an indoor pool and have fun with the kids, but when we arrived, we were not given the double queen room in the tower I had purchased online, and instead put in a room with a window into the pool/atrium with two double beds. There was a very loud and large party in the atrium, and we called the front desk to ask if we […] could have a different room. They told us that it would be quiet by 9pm. At 10pm, it was so loud in our room that we called again and they moved us across the hall. The room stunk like cigarettes, so we called again and they moved us into a king room in the tower. By 11pm, we got the kids to bed. Not happy about that. The front desk attendants were rude and unhelpful. The pool was ok, but colder than expected, and the arcade ate a lot of quarters. I stayed here for the first time in many, many years, and quite frankly was expecting a better experience than I received. Maybe it was just the fact that I remembered something being better than it was, but my stay at the Holiday Inn Wolf Rd was a bit on the disappointing side. The room I was in, on the ground floor, was a bit smaller than one I stayed […] in years ago back when the hotel was known as the Turf Inn. Whether the room was smaller because of a renovation, or just seemed smaller because of my faulty memory I don't know. Check in was fine and the staff was helpful and courteous. One thing I did notice were old wine glasses sitting in the hallway and that several hotel staff passed by in the hallway and nobody bothered to pick them up. Eventually they were collected, I guess by the maid service, but this inattention to cleanliness and detail was not a good first impression to make. The indoor pool seemed to be open and closed at odd hours, despite the posted supposed hours of operation. My wife and I went to swim during the middle of the day on a couple of occasions and the gate surrounding the pool and hot tub was locked. Unfortunately we never got around to using the pool because it seemed to only be open when we were otherwise occupied. The room was decently furnished except for the desk chair, which was old and the rollers did not work making it a chore to use. The smaller size of the room was not helped by the fact that an easy chair and foot stool were jammed in next to our king size bed. The small closet made it a challenge to stow our luggage and we had to leave one suitcase in the middle of the room. The television in our room was old, a CRT. Not a flat panel that is common in pretty much any decent hotel room these days. The bathroom was okay but on the small side as well. The best thing about the hotel is its location. We were told and paid extra for a full buffet breakfast for four. A child under 12 was free. They didn't have a buffet for breakfast. They issued a coupon for breakfast that was good for $20.00 per room per day and we had to fight to get $20.00 per person. The breakfast was terrible!

We checked into the room late at night and there was a puddle under the sink and the toilet was running. The bathroom ended up flooding and we had to change rooms in the middle of the night with our baby. Unfortunately it will be a memorable stay for all the wrong reasons

I gave a low rating in the condition of hotel because when we went to our room the air conditioner was not working. We went to front desk and it was reported. Then we ate at the resturant .. when we were finished eating , we approached the desk and they said it was being worked on so we sat in the lobby.. After an half hour later we decided to go to […] room and see what was going on..The a/c was working...so the only complaint is that we were very tired and they saw us sitting in the lobby and could have told us the a/c was fixed. but overall rating was good Przeczytaj więcej

I payed extra to have a room that was pool side and they had none available. additionall they closed the pool early so we never even got to use the pool that night . They offered no compensation and placed me in a room in a seperate tower.

overall, this holiday inn was decent; clean and sterile, fairly quiet. we booked a tower room with king bed and breakfast. when we got there, they told us there were no king beds available. okay, so we dealt with two queens. the hotel room was decent but overpriced for what we got. the breakfast was a $20 voucher at the hotel restaurant. the restaurant […] staff were indifferent to everyone - not unfriendly, but not really that warm. the buffet was decent but i should have skipped booking it and eaten out somewhere instead. overall, i wasn't overly impressed with this place. i stayed here a long time ago when it was the turf inn and it was great. now it's just a regular hotel - not good, not bad. there are a lot of cheaper alternatives in the area that i think we'll go to next time. Clean, well taken care of, acknowledged my Priority Platinum status, gave me coupons which I could esily use for breakfast items in the gift shop. Close to many restaurants such at the Red Lobster. Close to the Interstate highway and ALB airport, although I did not use the ALB airport on this trip.

Hotel was incredibly noisy, a little stuffy, but very clean. I got a room near the pool because my daughter was with me and when we got up first thing to swim the pool opened two hours later than schedule and we had to change out of our suits and pack up before swimming. A bit of a disappointment, but acceptable.
