DoubleTree by Hilton Tampa Airport - Westshore - Tampa

Chose this restaurant as a location to watch the super bowl and not have to drive home but the restaurant/bar was closed for a private party. No dinner, no drinks and no Super Bowl...very disappointed.

Not what I expected from a doubletree

We stayed at this hotel because we were seeing a concert at a near by location. The hotel was very clean and everyone that worked there were all professional. Would stay there again.

Absolutely loved it! Beds were amazing!

DoubleTree by Hilton Tampa Airport - Westshore is very conveniently located and provides free airport shuttle. Also great for getting transportation to the marine port as taxis stop regularly and often. The hotel itself is very nice, restaurant/bar is friendly and reasonable, the beds are dreamy! Highly recommend!

This Hilton property was a bit old and tired. The sports bar was great, good food, great atmpsphere. and a fun spot to spend time. Best of all the free transportation was awsome. They took us shopping, to dinner, a walmart and a liquior store, all for no additional costs.

very nice and comfortable, close to everything, I would stay there again.

The hotel was very nice but the parking is horrible...

Pros: Really look forward to the warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in. Staff is very friendly. Offers valet parking Clean Cons: Parking can be sparse in front of hotel at times. Multi-level parking garage is available but no direct access to the hotel.

Hotel is OK, but the renovation should really make it nicer. Worth the stay now, but we'll see what happens.

This hotel is outdated and, when combined with the poor service, is not a hotel I would stay at again. The room I was first assigned had a loud air conditioner fan. The second room had a sliding glass door that could not move on the tracks due to age and once opened after much effort could not be closed and locked. First, there is no complimentary breakfast as there is with almost every other hotel, and Second, internet access costs $5 a day! MacDonalds even provides free internet...these two seemingly minor things would stop me from going there, because they are symbolic of the pricing and service there. Hotel has rooms listed as smoking and non-smoking, but is a non-smoking hotel. Hotels.com as it listed as smoking rooms available but there are no smoking rooms. When we first arrived the original room smelled very musty, like a vacuum blew up, after calling the front desk, the clerk gave us a different room and met us at that room so we didn't have […] to go back to the lobby. The hotel restaurant ran out of steak but the waiter was very pleasant. The hotel bar is nice but pricey. Nice average hotel but not upscale. The free cookie was good! Our phones were not operational. Had to resort to cell phones to contact friends in another room. We complained, but nothing done. The carpeting was filthy and stained. There was toothpaste smeared across the vanity. Dust piled up on the moulding behind the bathroom door. The shower tiles were dirty looking, the grout discolored. I stopped in after seeing the low price on hotels.com and when i went in they were quite friendly but when i asked for the price i saw online she said i would have to book online for that price. Their price was almost $50 dollars more. I booked online and went back to the counter where the attitude was much less friendly. I gave her the confirmation […] number and before i could finish she cut me off and said no thats not our number. I said that was the number i was given . I ended up waiting at the counter for almost 20 minutes before she checked me in with another cc deposit. The hotel lobby is old the rooms are ok but the carpet throughout the hotel is really dirty and stained. The hottub was broken and the door to our room was also broken. We had to wait in the hall with armloads of bags while a maintenance man came to open the door. When he opened it he said the hotel is so old you have to put your key in and pull the door towards you and jiggle the handle and then push . After the instructions he closed the door and said here you try so i attempted it and no luck. He said here i'll show you and then it took him three more attempts to open the door. Chose this hotel as I had a 6:00 am flight out of Tampa International. It was close, clean and did the job. The shuttle to the airport was very convenient.

great location.

This hotel is well-placed, clean, and modern. The staff is very polite. My problem is that they'll promise you the world, and then deliver nothing. I forgot 2 asthma inhalers, and called numerous times. Each time I was promised that someone would get back to me whether they found them or not, and that just never happened. I have now waited over a week, […] and have received no word from the hotel as to if they were found or not. After checking in I was given a room that was occupied. Upon returning to the front desk I was quickly upgraded to another room. I was surprised to find 1 missing and 2 non working light bulbs, and a broken water glass in the bathroom. Aside from that the hotel and room were great. Very clean! I'll definitely go back.

Customer service was horrible. They had an ego going on from the start until the last day of stay.

we arrived at 11pm with our bags ready to be picked up. After two phone calls we were finally picked up at the airport at 12am. We were in a taxi at this point to get to the hotel finally the shuttle arrived. Hotel staffed seemed not concerned that we had to wait for 45 minutes for shuttle at midnight when traveling with a child. NO phone service at […] airport to call for shuttle. Booked this hotel because we needed a place to stay in tampa. looked good and not too expensive. it was amazing! very good gym facilities, heated pool (but not too warm), clean and comfortable room and bed.

Our room was too far away from the lobby and restaurant. The balcony also opened up to face a wall. There were no rooms available to change. The cookies are awesome and made up for the wall.

Got a great sale price on this hotel relatively near the Forum. The room was comfortable however there appeared to be an issue with the AC. The room was stuffy although the temp was set below 70. The rug beneath the AC unit was damp. Overall I was very happy with the room and the hotel

Very pleased overall. Check-in was easy and desk clerk was very pleasant. Needed a roll away bed, no problem less then 10 min delivered with extra towels additional shampoo, conditioner and soap. Needed some directions which were given acurately as well as a local map again very helpful. we checked into the hotel and checked out rite away the room had a odd odur ,the room looked like it was from the 60s carpets looked worn.enuf said at least the counter clerk offered full refund

I have always written great/excellent reviews - where we've stayed. I wasn't very happy at this Hotel and this was my very first stay at a "Hilton DoubleTree hotel. Upon arriving - I asked for a Microwave and a Refrigerator. The front desk receptionist informed me - the rooms did not come with a "microwave or refrigerator." I was very surprised. However, […] she informed me if I wanted a Refrigerator and Microwave - someone will bring the items to our room and it will cost $20.00. I informed her - the cost was fine - no problem. The Refrigerator was delivered and left on the floor - no table was given. I was charged for the Microwave - which I didn't received - I called the desk - was informed it would not be on my bill; however, it was charged to my bill. The pillows were uncomfortable; the room could use fresh paint. Also, the fitness room- the Treadmills were not working- and other Guests were complaining. I didn't complain- I waited until someone else had finished his- workout. My best stays have been with the "Gaylord - Texan Hotels/The Embassy Suites in Brandon/The Sheraton/ The Hyatt and The Hilton. We didn't have towels (face cloths); once I asked for towels- I informed the 1st cleaning lady- that our room was fine - no need to clean- she said okay - will make a note. We left for lunch - returned and the towels we asked for - were taken- by another cleaning lady- who came to clean our room . On Monday, before leaving - we placed our garbage in one big bag; the towels were placed in the bathroom in one pile. The sinks were wiped - no water on the surface. We left our room cleaned. (Before leaving on Monday, I tipped the Housekeeping lady (on Sunday) . I am a Hilton Honor-Card Holder. We were in Tampa to see my Dallas Cowboys. We will return to Tampa - but we'll stay at The Embassy Suites. We expected more - because The DoubleTree is a subsidiary of The Hilton Hotels. Very clean hotel, staff was friendly, and the hotel was close to everything inTampa.

Hotel had excellent location and shuttle service.sports bar and resturant were good.I would frequent again.

All the amenities needed to conduct business in Tampa. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Nice restaurant.

The location was great with two wonderful malls close by with shuttle service. Shuttle service to and from the airport and the cruise ships also helped out alot. Small pool but great workout room and bar with large screens to watch all of the games.

The staff wasn't helpful in pointing to the elevator location or to point out the location of the amenities.

This hotel has a good location, near a couple of nice malls and a lot of restaurants. The shuttle service is great--very flexible dropping off and picking up from the malls and airport. The front desk staff are friendly. However, housekeeping and room service need some improvement. Room service (breakfast) did not arrive until I had to leave. Hotel had VERY comfortable beds, but there was a lot of activity going on all the time in lobby and ballrooms/restaurants. Parking outside hotel was taken up by convention/partygoers so had to park in garage. On the day we left, someone broke into our car and stole 2 GPS's that were concealed in center console.

I enjoyed the hotel very much. The only bad thing was I had to walk past all the smokers to get to the parking garage.

i was very pleased with my stay....all of the staff was great and i would visit again.... the front desk supervisor greeted me with a warm smile and they gave me fresh cookies when i checked in...

close to westshore mall and resturants breakfast in hotel was wonderful and bar was priced reasonably

Many things work for this hotel -- great service to the airport, friendly staff and a hot cookie upon registration. Other things don't work as well: a pool that is placed in a mostly shaded area (thanks to one of the taller towers being adjacent) and very limited seating in the lobby.
