The hotel seemed to be updated but the guest rooms were very run down (cigarette stains on sink) and the pool was also dissapointing. It was cold, needed painting and we arrived in the pool area at 8:45am and there was left over clothes, towels and ponytail holders in the hot tub area. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the only issue we had was that we booked 2 queen beds and our room was for 2 double beds.
The hotel was full of 3rd - 8th grade kids because of a basketball tourney. Most of the kids were good but there were some that were very loud. I was awaken at 2am with some sort of disturbance in the hallway that carried on into the adjoining room. The pool had some issues, several that swam developed a rash. "won't stay there again"
location was fine; hotel is OLD, constructed before any soundproofing methods used (could hear EVERYTHING in the hallway, people talking in next room, showers running, moldy bath tub area) needed to change my reservation to eliminate one night and they would NOT accommodate even though I was cancelling a half day before arriving. My stay here was very pleasant and except for the firmness of the matress I was very comfortable. The acomidations for our reunion and the service during the reunion was excellent...thank you.

The hot tub and indoor pool were closed for cleaning when we were there, but other than that, we had a great experience. It was very close to the places we were visiting in St. Louis, and easy to find.

Check-in was very slow and groups without reservations were served first even though we were there before them and had been waiting patiently for one of the staff behind the desk to register us. The airconditioner was extremely noisy and we did not have a good night's sleep. There was no refrigerator in the room so we couldn't keep drinks or food cold. Hotel had us in a king room BUT it was a smoking room. We don't smoke, so they gave us a room with 2 queen beds. Worked out ok but believe we paid more for a King. Hotel had breakfast at a separate charge only. Did have morning coffee. Yeah! It was a nice, newly remodeled hotel.

"How do you ruin breakfast?"
Breakfast was horrible. The staff seemed to be more interested in the web than taking care of guests. (The bartender was the exception to this rule as she was helpful, courtious and pleasant). Someone trying to call in to speak with me had to call in 5 to 6 times before the desk would pick up. When I checked out in the morning I had to yell for almost […] 5 minutes before the clerk came to check me out. WIll not return to this HI. The front desk people were very helpful. I am from Indiana and never been to St. Louis so when i had a question about directions they were helpful. The beds are very comfortable and the prices are cheap. They accept dogs, which i loved!

"Good 3 Star Hotel"
The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. Free internet service. The bathrooms were a bit small but the water pressure was good.

What can you say? It's Holiday Inn. Nothing really special, the price and location was good and fill my needs. Like most Holidayh Inns, showing signs of wear...but price is right.

Hotel is old and it shows. Our room's floor felt damp and reeked of a mildew/stale odor. the sheets also felt damp and sticky. there seemed to be alot of moisture in the air as it showed on the windows in the room. The hotel is in a very convenient location, clean and staffed by helpful and friendly people. However the facility, though well maintained, is old and needs upgrading to be worthy of a repeat visit. For example, the room air conditioner is so loud that sleeping was a real problem. The mattress and pillows also were not up to the standard found in similarly […] priced properties. "Good Hotel, Great Price"
Everything was excellent except our last night. The room was not cleaned or bed made. Considering the rest of our stay, probably just an oversight. This was our second stay and both were very good.

For the amount of money I paid, I would never stay there again. There was hair on the floor in our bathroom and in the shower. It smelled very musty and had I realized the Hampton Inn across the road I would have NEVER stayed here.

the hotel staff was great. the room was clean but small. pools were great as well as the hot tub. breakfast was buffet style little pricey but not too bad service and friendliness of staff was worth it. i would stay there again.

This property has been a Holiday Inn forever, and it shows it's age, despite a recent freshening to the current marque. The rooms are on the small side, and the walls are pretty thin. The hotel was very clean. In our limited interaction with the staff, they seemed to genuinely wanted to help. The location was perfect for us: on the way west toward Six Flags, down the street from The Magic House, etc. I would warn anyone eating breadfast in the Viking (in hotel restaurant) to watch your ticket price. We (2 adults, 2 kids) ate there […] Friday morning and were charged $21; went again Saturday morning (after seeing flyers around the hotel annoucing kids 12 and under eat free), my wife didn't eat at all, and they tried to charge us $25. We were warmly greated at the front desk. Our room was clean and pillows were marked firm & soft. We later received a phone call from the manager asking if the hotel could do anything to make our stay better. The work out room was nice and the treadmills were good quality.
