This resort is excellent value for money - rooms are spacious enough and clean (although they have not been refurbished for quite a few years). Swimming pools are also ok, our babies (2 and 4 y.o.) enjoyed them most of the day.

"Very good location but poor quality"
This hotel is rated 3.5 stars but it did not measure up. Very shabby looking. Not what I expected for a Crown Plaza. The service at the front desk was average. We were given a room on the 3rd floor with a window over looking the outside corridor walkway. Could not open blinds due to privacy but they were also broken and hanging off the track. Very noisy. […] Every time someone next door flushed you heard it. Not only the sound of the water but also some kind of loud thud which kept waking us up. People hanging around outside the pool area and hallways well past 2am. Could not take the noise anymore and called front desk around 3am. Security showed up and quieted down the crowd about an hour later. At this point none of us got any sleep including our 4 yr old. The next morning we decided to cut our losses and check out a day early and go to another hotel. Very dissapointed with the stay. At checkout front desk wanted to know why we were checking out early. When we told them the reasons, they said we needed to take it up with Hotels.com. Very clean, comfortable, beautiful patio/pool area, good breakfast in dining room. Nice/helpful front desk personel.

Single bed rooms were a bit small, rooms with two beds were larger but everything was clean and it was very conveniently located by the airport without the airport noise. I would stay there again.

Great service!!! Warm, friendly and beyond helpful! If we weren't leaving for a cruise the next day, the Crowne Plaza would be the place to stay!! SUPERB!

"crown plaza tampa"
my only complaint is they decided to pressure wash the patio area on easter sunday. they had to move the furniture etc. so it was not very enjoyable to be out by the pool and i was very dissappointed.

We liked the location of the hotel, but the room itself smelled very musty, and didn't have a look and feel of clean. It seemed time for some major upkeep & the odor bothered me along with my allergies!

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night after a long transatlantic flight.I searched for a room for 2 adults,2 12 year olds and 1 10 year old. The room at this hotel claimed to accommodate us. The room had 2 double beds only not even a bed settee as a result my 10y old slept on pillows from the bed on the floor!! This was my second stay/same week. The room I had this second time (booking w/ Hotels.com) had a bed mattress that was sunken in the middle (one of the beds) and light/fan in bathroom malfunctioning (which was repaired promptly) and a noisy floor most of the night. Toilet handle stuck toilet kept running. Electrical wall outlet coming out of wall. Layer of dust on furniture. "Overpriced"
The toilet rocked, the sink was stopped up, the coffee machine was awful, and the breakfast downstairs cost a fortune. We were out all day and when we got back at about 2 pm our room had not yet been made up. There were air movers and dehumidifiers in the hallway drying a leak. Very clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel shuttle available for more than just airport transfers. Nice buffet breakfast.

The hotel was close to the airport and the hotel has a free shuttle that will pick you up and transport you to the hotel. The last day we needed a ride to the port for our cruise and the hotel arranged a shuttle for us and other passengers for the cruise for a flat rate that was very reasonable. We stayed here for the Outback Bowl. The hotel is very close to the airport, stadium, and highways for getting to the surrounding beaches. It was very clean and comfortable. "Convenient and excellent guest services"
I would recommend this hotel highly. It's very conveniently located (next to Tampa Airport and I-275 and I-4), and the hotel staff is quite professional and friendly. All staff with whom I interacted displayed outstanding customer relationship skills. I have been staying at this hotel for the past three years.

The hotel was nice and we had a very pleasant stay. The staff was VERY friendly and accomodating. My kids are 15 and 4, so finding a place that is agreeable to both is difficult, but I can honestly say both my kids (and us parents) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely go back!!

"Don't trust the wake up calls"
I signed up for 2 calls 15 minutes apart so I would not miss my plane. I woke up one hour after the calls had been requested. I did not receive either of my calls. The phone was 6 inches from my head. Two phones in the room. I know it never rang. When I called the desk, they said they would check on it. I was frantic, fearing I would miss my plane. […] They were rude , and said that they called me 4 times and knocked on my door. I said they must have called the wrong room. They argued with me, and didn't even offer to come get my bags or anything to help me. To top it off, I see a little card beside the bed that says if they don't call within 15 minutes of the time requested, you will receive a free night. I think that they were afraid they would be fired if they had made the mistake and would not own up to it. I barely made my flight for 3 stops and 15 hour trip to my home. All was great at the Crowne in Tampa...which was only 1 1/2 miles from the airport - very convenient. Also has a free shuttle to and from airport. Room was very nice, bed was comfy and the pillows are awesome. Wish I had them in MY home. All Personnel were gracious, helpful, and pleasant. You'll even LOVE taking a shower at this place. :-)

"Comfy room, but not typical Crowne Plaza"
The room was clean & comfortable, but the windows were fixed - so no fresh air unless we made the trip to ground level and went outside. This facility seemed a bit low-brow for a Crowne Plaza. No waiting hops to take your luggage up to the room, no obviously available concierge, and the dinners seemed pre-packaged. The staff was friendly, polite, and […] attentive, but my overall impression of the location was that minimal effort was good enough. One big issue I had was the toilet. The flush and refill was LOUD !!!! I mean it sounded like it was gonna go into orbit loud - CRAZY LOUD !! The stopper would stick open and the tank refill would run & run. Jiggle the handle and the stopper falls, but every 12 minutes or so the rocket would fire up for a few seconds to refill the tank. I told management about it before dinner and they said it was fixed. Indeed it seemed so, but after one flush before bed it all started again. Did I mention that it was LOUD? (engineering request record available at Crowne Plaza site) - Made for a poor nights sleep in an otherwise comfortable room. After our morning visits the lack of sleep required another hotel stay elsewhere as I was just too fatigued to make the drive home across the peninsula. I suspect this was an uncommon issue and expect future stays to be more restful, but next time I book here the plumbing will be tested before I unpack. We liked the overall decor of the Hotel, very updated but comfortable. A great location whether you're going downtown, Ybor district or traveling south to the beaches, St. Pete or other destinations south of the Bay.

The beds and pillows were so comfortable that me and my husband got all the info on the brand so we can purchase some for our home! I have a really bad back and It was like sleeping on the clouds! I had the best sleep I have had in a long time!

I have stayed at other Crowne Plaza hotels. This one seemed a little worse for wear. However, it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the service personnel were excellent. We only stayed one night. It was five minutes from the airport. Very convenient. I would stay here again.
"Nice little hotel"
Stayed in this hotel while taking the Florida Bar Exam. It's about 15 minutes from downtown, but comfortable and quiet. If you are looking for a place to stay for this exam, this is a good one because no other wacky bar takers will be there. The beds are nice and also has a "quiet floor."

For our first family vacation we chose to stay here and the hotel was great. Our first reaction when we pulled up was that it was a very nice clean hotel. The pricing was good, Checking in was quick and the people at the guest service counter were very kind and courteous also.. We stayed there for 7 nights and with a family of 5 there was enough room […] for us all. The beds were very comfortable. The one thing I liked most about this hotel is that housekeeping doesn't start making their rounds until after 10am. We were never awakened by them knocking on the door and it allowed my family and i to get up and not be rushed to get out the hotel so we'd be out of their way while cleaning our room. The rooms are nice and very comfortable. The only misunderstanding was that the check-in person told us the continental breakfast was included but it isn't. You either need to have a complementary pass or pay the price. The personnel is very friendly also. They would listen to my 6 y/o son and have a conversation with him even when they seemed busy. I travel on business to Tampa weekly and often stay at the Crowne Plaza. It is a fairly dependable stay for a good price. I always ask for down/feather-free linens and when housekeeping brought replacements I assumed (not a good idea) they were not down, and slept on them - woke up and my asthma and allergies were in high gear!! I mostly stay here for […] convenience and the restaurant menu is good with reasonably priced daily special menu (filet is great for good price). My stay was outstanding from the moment I walked the front door to the moment I walked out 2 days later. The staff was friendly and very helpful, the rooms and common areas were clean and the location was ideal. I will stay here every time in am in Tampa on business.
