hotel old not very clean. A/C didn't work, even after they came to fix it. Only one ice machine in 7 floors worked for whole buildidng. What can I say... you get what you pay for. At the end of the day, this place was perfect for walking to the convention center and lots of other places, including the beach! This is a hotel in a great location, but, badly in need of refurbishment. I stayed in an unseasonably cold February day with low temperatures in the 40's. My room was the same temperature. The heating system did not work, but, a space heater was quickly brought to my room when I complained. Only one of eight floors had a working ice machine. "I read reviews and knew it was terrible..."
Poor quality hotel that is begging for a remodel. The only nice thing, were the employees, and unfortunately they need a job. The smell was bad, so I took a scented candle, the tub was nasty, so I took a pair of shoes to wear.....yes, I read the reviews prior to staying, but I needed the location. Lamp switches were broken, batteries were missing out […] of the remote, safe (a must pay for) didn't work, but maintenance came right up and repaired. Mildew all over walls around a/c unit. the front desk attendant, Linda was very nice, but other than that the hotel leaves much to be desired! the room had a very bad smell, there were massive stains on the carpet, cigarette burns on both comforters, and the bathroom was just plain filthy. we had to wear our flip flops in the tub when we showered, it was that bad. the location was great […] however right next to the W hotel so we could escape and have drinks there. it was right on the strip close to the beach, and New Years eve so we weren't able to find anything else last minute. thank goodness it was only for two nights!! My stay at this hotel was ok, there was a smell in the hallway on the floor that I stayed on. The room walls needs repairs in a few places. The beds were great, the bed comfort was very good. It gets no better then that, parking across the street from the hotel, there is a bar and grill next door where the food is great along with the cost. The hotel staff was friendly and helpfull at all times, the morning breakfast buffet was not as good as I thought it would be, overall it was good enough to eat... The chef needs to go back to cooking school, instead of cutting corners with can food. Would I stay at this hotel again.... Yes. For the price and confort, the beach and location... I bought my ticket blind. i didnt know which hotel id get. After reading the other reviews I was apprehensive about this place. My expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised and my experience was good. Yes, the place is the worst one in the area, but the area is full if luxury hotels. The hotel is on the beach in a fantastic location. I called […] in advance to make sure that I'd be able to have a late arrival and the fellow at the desk was very helpful and friendly. I ended up with a spacious room on a high floor. The ocean was visible across the parking area - a fine view. Security was fine and I felt safe. On the negative side, the hallways and elevator are grungy and the room wasn't the cleanest. The bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. The hotel decor seems to be from the 70s or 80s. it could use a facelift but all in all my stay was fine. The hotel is located in a good area of Miami Beach. But It needs alot of repairs and the cleaning staff need to have more pride in their work. The bathroom was dirty especially the bathtub. "Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!"
All the other hotels in the local area where full. I know this because when I walked into the Seagull I walked out and tried to find somewhere else to spend the night. 3 armed security guards in reception should have been a clue but it got worse when I got to my room. Dirt, stains, rusty bathroom fitting, mould, slashed furniture, wiring hanging out […] of the walls. Amazingly the bedding was clean. The hotel was full of ferral youths running round the corridors and a party was being held in a room 2 doors away from mine. Security showed no interest in stopping this. I finally gave up and checked out at 6am and slept in my car. The amazing thing is that the hotel's location is incredible. Just off Collins Ave and backing onto South Beach. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.
