"Not 5 star"
I would recommend this hotel for location. Great views and close to where you need to go, but not 5 star. Carpet, wallpaper, bathroom etc all dated. Like, carpet coming up along the walls.

Average; not as good as it might have been for the price; and the room was nothing like the picture on the internet.
"Would Stay Here Again"
Our room (512) was on the small side, but perfectly adequate for 2 adults. The bathroom, on the other hand, was very spacious and included a large bathtub/shower combo (not too common in French hotels). The bed was lovely - it included down appointments and was so comfortable that we found it rather difficult to get out of each morning. The free minibar […] was a nice touch; however, we did have to remind the friend and helpful hotel staff to service it on a couple of occasions. Location is great - just a couple of blocks from the metro and tourist office. The common areas are attractive and well utilized. The spa looked very impressive as well, but we never had occasion to use it, so I can't comment on the amenities. All in all, a very pleasant and comfortable stay! Przeczytaj więcej

hotel in good location, on edge of historic centre of lyon, next to riverbank. easy to walk to major attractions. next to run down area of city with no restaurants etc apparent after shops close. parking was available and hotel easily located when driving into city. prompt check in and staff provided us with maps and tourist information. post office […] nearby. public areas of hotel modern. restaurant has good selection of food and prompt service. bedroom was basic and clean. only negative comment is that bedroom furnishings were old and in need of reburbishment. not the modern decor that i expect from a sofitel hotel. "Nice hotel near Lyon center"
A very nice hotel in a good location near old city and newer parts. Room is not very big, but very well organized and room is very cozy and quiet (heard not the faintest sound from corridor or any other room). Free Wifi was a very nice surprise! "Sofitel Lyon Bellecour, comfortable haven"
This hotel is a relaxing, lovely place to return to after a long, sight-seeing day. The ambience is very nice and the breakfast on the top floor is not to be missed for the view as much as the food. We stayed in a junior suite which was especially comfortable. The staff were welcoming and efficient. I am glad I chose this hotel and plan to stay here […] again on my next trip to Lyon. "LYON Sofitel Complimentary drink"
On arrival the clerk couldn't find our booking- Which is embarassing -We were told of the complimentary soft drinks in the room, unfortunatly the drinks were never replaced,even though I did phone the service number. The drinks were never replaced in the morning or evening. I would rather have paid a fee for what we used as per normal hotel - The A/C […] leaked and the carpet was wet. "Sofitel Lyon - overlooking the river"
For an overnight stay it was fine. We found the classic room to small to move in but it was very clean and the staff was very pleasant. Our expectation of the room was based on our experience of the Melbourne Sofitel where the basic room is slightly larger.

While the service was excellent, I do not think it lives up to 5 stars. The "turkish bath" is actually a steam room. Our room was clean, but needed updating, and was small. The upstairs bar had an excellent view, but the drinks were pricy. I would try another hotel next time I'm in Lyon.

"Beautiful hotel, friendly staff"
My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Sofitel Lyon in mid-September as a base to walk around Lyon as well as to drive a rental car down the Rhone valley and up into the nearby Alps. The hotel public areas are exceptional and the room was remarkably large for European lodging, nicely equipped and very comfortable. "Nice, clean hotel"
Good location for this clean, comfortable hotel. Close to shopping and major highways. Room was nice and spacious.

It's very neat, and clean, but feels very institutional. You won't feel you are at home. the atomosphere, that is to say the way the staff treat you, is lacking warmth. You will leave there feeling they tried to squeeze every penny out of you. Even though the staff is very polite and courteous, somehow it's not hospitable. Maybe it was when I tried […] to have them print me my itinerary from Delta's website and they asked me to buy a computer card for 5 Euro (almost $7.5) to be able to print one sheet. Or was it when I was 1 cent short (really; it's hard to believe--but no exaggeration) to pay my bill, and the clerk insisted that I break my last 10 Euro bill because I HAVE TO pay that 1 cent. "Bien placé, mais chambre pas à la hauteur"
Un accueil excellent. Un emplacement très pratique. Mais une grosse déception au niveau de la chambre qui aurait besoin d'une rénovation. Un tapis taché, des joints de baignoire noirs, etc. Pas vraiment digne d'un 5 étoiles.
SPA un peu décevant pour un 5* room service également pas à la hauteur d'un 5 *: pas de mets chauds après minuit.

Accueil très chaleureux, le personnel est tout à fait charmant et avenant. L'hôtel est très bien entretenu. Seule petite ombre au tableau, les chambres sont vraiment exigues, même si elles sont confortables.

Un hôtel qui se prétend cinq étoiles mais n'en offre pas les services! Pas de room service durant la nuit, par exemple. L'hôtel est en revanche très bien situé, sur les bords du Rhône, à côté de la place Bellecour, et le personnel accueillant et sympathique. Mais ce n'est pas un cinq étoiles, tout juste un quatre.

Parfaitement situé et très "IN". Superbe table étoilée Michelin. Que du bonheur.
Personnel très aimable, serviable, parfait. Juste une légère odeur de "vieux" à notre étage (2e), pourtant sans moquettes dans les chambres. Belle vue sur toute la ville avec lever de soleil splendide pour le petit déjeuner. Brasserie bonne

Moderne og meget bra forretningshotell . Utmerket service. De parkerte / leverte bilen nesten uten at vi merket det. Sentralt i byen dersom man ikke vil bo i den eldste bydelen. Rom mot gaten og elv uten at støy var generende, dvs godt isolerte rom. Litt trangt rom for mange store kofferter.

La salle du petit déjeuner est bien trop petite par rapport à l'affluence des personnes. Faire la queue dans un 5 étoiles n'est pas top ! Le personnel était submergé, heureusement il était très aimable. C'est dommage car la vue est sympa........

Hôtel tres bien situé, proche rue commerciale et vieille ville. Qualité service irréprochable, tres propre! Restaurant au 8eme étage avec vue panoramique sur Lyon. Hammam avec parcours de douches massantes. Je recommande vivement!!

"Sofitel i Lyon - med flot udsigt over floden"
Velfungerende og centralt beliggende hotel. Vi havde 2 værelser, hvoraf det ene var total istandsat, mens det andet trængte til fornyelse/updatering.
Parfait sauf la climatisation de la chambre qui était vraiment très limite par rapport au température extérieur qui c'est vrai étaient très fortes.

Très bel établissement situé à quelques minutes à pieds de la zone pietonne commerciale. Décoration comptemporaire et soignée des chambres. Grande salle de bains et douche immense (2 à 3 m2). Un parking pratique sous l'immeuble, car peu de possibilités de se garer. Concierge efficace. Personnel agréable. Je n'ai pas testé les repas/Ptts déjeuners.
